auto attacks
auto attack bug is back chasing people around like headless chickens trying to get auto attack swings, counted 24 seconds between 4 swings in arena yesterday.
Re: auto attacks
They said they fixed seal twisting - is it related to that? I heard some mention of them making it so autoattack resets when you change weapon now too, maybe that's what is going on?
Arthur C. Clarke - "Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying."
Re: auto attacks
We did indeed add a weapon swing penalty to swapping weapons. Performing a lot of weapon swaps can significantly reduce overall attack speed. We have not really changed any other the mechanics recently.
We did introduce an extra check to prevent a previous exploit where rapidly selecting and deselecting a target could massivly boost a player's attack speed.
The system has been changed over time, but in it's current state any attack speed delays should be more minor than in the past when the values we introduced were too severe.
We introduced the system in the first place because our core has a very buggy auto-attack system. Examples of bugs we sought to eliminate with the changes we implemented a few months ago:
Melee attacks across large distances (15 + yards)
Instant melee attacks out of stuns and CC effects.
Instant attacks when entering combat.
Retail wow always had a dynamic melee swing delay that was applied to white attacks, delaying the swing and damage from occuring, and we had to manually replicate this into our core.
However the results should never be a drastic reduction in attack speed that you seem to be experiancing, which leads me to believe it may be the weapon swap penalty which is harming your auto-attack speed. Can you give any specific details in the scenario where you had such a drasticlly low attack speed?
The only other thing I can think of is out of melee range issues? Were you attacking a pet by any chance?
Edit: Someone mentioned a really good point, are you using focus intercept macros? In tbc up untill early wrath using focus intercept would bug out autoattack, locking it to your previous target.

Re: auto attacks
It could* have only been the weapon switch or a focus macro because they sometimes stop you auto attacking but even still while spamming mortal strike ( it has /startattack in the macro ) it wouldn't hit him quite strange, Maybe i just have small arms. '-'

Re: auto attacks
I am not sure if this will work in TBC, but you could try this:
/cleartarget
/targetlasttarget
/startattack
/cleartarget
/targetlasttarget
/startattack

Re: auto attacks
yea that could work i use the same sort of thing for feigndeath its just gunna be a pain if you have to do this every time you jump on a target after using lets say focus intercept. Was hoping for some kind of server side fix if there even is one.Exsurgo wrote:I am not sure if this will work in TBC, but you could try this:
