Spell Reflect vs Hunter Traps

Post by Outskilled »

Frost trap and Freezing traps trigger "spell reflect" against a warrior, The freezing one actually works and you can get out of it but the frost one shows the reflect and still goes off thus you being slowed by it. It should disappear and not even trigger an effect like the freezing one but sadly it does not here's a video demo a hotfix would be nice. Been doing my head in for a while

I have not found evidence that frost trap should be able to be reflected or disabled by spell-reflect:

It doesn't actually reflect it to the hunter, it basically Nulifies it, in other words...It Eats the trap =)

This doesn't work on the AoE frost trap, only the normal frozen trap.
Under wowhead for spell-reflect:
Gengetsu on 2008/01/23 (Patch 2.3.3)
Like the tooltip says: "next spell cast on you". Traps are instant and they doesn't target you. It's kind of AoE, when you reach the traps area, boom, read: traps can be triggered by any enemy player or npc, they doesn't target a single enemy... Only spells with some kind of casting can be reflected, and to reflect the spell, you must be the casters target (single target spells)

Doesn't work on AoE... only single target spells.

Also note :

Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): If the target who triggers Frost Trap is immune to its effect, the Frost Trap area effect will no longer be triggered.

It may be possible that this mechanic was changed in patch 3.1

So I have failed to find evidence myself that this should work. If you are still convinced it should work, can you point me towards any evidence? Sorry for my delay on getting back to you on this, I get quite a lot of questions etc.
