You're not meant to be able to see the flag on the map before you get the debuff.

This kills any kind of strategy in WSG as all you need to do is control mid and respond to whether the flag carrier goes tun, gy or ramp. Practically it makes it impossible for a pug to beat a premade.

No they're not, they're visible from the moment they pick up the flag.

This is how it should be, but frankly archyo is right. If you are opposed by something else than cabbage, theres no chance that one could make it from a base to the other without meeting resistance.
