just curious about this 1.
if 2 priest use mindflay on 1 target it nullifys the other.
is this supposed to happen ?
or should just the damage stack ? because 2 movent debuffs sounds to Op
anyway..... Discuss D:

I guess you're asking if the movement debuff stacks. If that's the case it shouldn't, just like two frostbolts or hamstrings doesn't. If multiple snares are applied the most potent one should be prioritized.

yea sorry im a bit confusing with my last comment ill try to explain it more thoroughly.
ok picture this

me (priest) and a mate of mine (also a priest) see this druide for example.
now we both cast our dots do our rotations etc.
until i do Mindflay.
now as soon as the other priest does Mindflay it nulifys the first mindflay .
meaning youre cast ends as soon as youre mate starts using it.
is this supposed to happen ?
because warlocks can use 2 drain life's on 1 target so why shouldnt it with priest ?

Oh, well that's not supposed to happen (at least I think so). I know there's been some problems with mindflay breaking on powershifting, and afaik this continued even in WotLK (talking about retail here). But I've never heard of what you're describing. Then again I've never been that interested in spriests, and you usually don't see two of them in arenas (if you don't count 5s which I'm not interested in either). I did however play with a few, and they've never really complained about it. If there's a bug/problem with a class/spec/ability people tend to bitch about it (including myself). For example rogues crying about vanish being buged or clos being 90% resist. Or warlocks who thought their drains being dispelled was retarded. And we have hunters who got pissed at being cheap shotted in deterrence. But I've never heard of a priest complaining about another priest breaking mindflay.

I could be wrong here, but it sounds rather dumb.

Channelled spells like mind flay drain life/mana/soul count as a debuff on the target and only one of them can be up at any given time, so yes.

Quite a lot of other debuffs can be stacked though. But you're prolly right.

If I'm wrong there's also a debuff limit which could explain the issue.

Movement debuffs don't stack and therefore I think mind flay's effect shouldn't stack..
Mind Flay is considered as a DoT by the game instead of a direct damage spell. So maybe the damage should stack?

Yeah, this is what I was thinking. Me and a buddy had this discussion the other day about druids powershifting out of flay as well. The movement should break, but not the dmg. Either way it must be annoying. But I guess it doesn't happen all that often.
