Because after they ignore me they keep talking and it's annoying if I can't talk back then ;p

Hm good point, from what I remember you shouldn't be able to write someone you ignored.

Funny enough you could. I remember ignoring someone in TBC days and still being able to send them messages lol. It's like until they ignore you too.

Can't actually believe now that this guy where I tested it on ignored me aswell. I'd so have abused that back in those days. =P
We pretty much flamed each other, and apparently put ourselves on ignore simultanously.

Gotta think of a reason why Blizzard never made the more reasonable approach then though, I mean who wouldn't abuse that... ;]
Except me of course, I'm the most serious guy ever.

The best blocking features I've ever seen has been Facebook. It completely hides you and the other person from each other. WoW's is so one-sided. You simply don't see anything they say, so they could be flaming you in a channel and you'd have no idea. Also they can easily login to another character and just flame you that way... Should have been account-wide.

That is true, you can Send messages to people who have NOT ignored you even tho you ignored them, this is a very childish case when you Ignore someone and after that send all weird messages to them like i got a lot of times.....
