Re: Mage Bugs - Report here
What is the bug?
The water elemental's attack command makes it go into melee and attack even though you have Waterbolt on autocast.
Is it a spell or database issue? (database relates to any NPC, quest or item)
Spell issue.
How can you reproduce it?
Make a Mage, specc down to the 41 point talent Summon Water Elemental, summon your elemental and right click Waterbolt to put it on autocast. Then tell your pet to attack something and it will start to "run" towards the target and melee autoswing it instead of casting Waterbolt.
Please describe, in detail what is suppose to occur when this bug happens:
The elemental is supposed to continuously cast Waterbolt's on the target until commanded not to or hindered in some way.
Please describe, in detail what happens when it bugs up, and how it's malfunctioning:
This isn't a unique problem for the water elemental, but for all pets (at least the ones I've played with). But this is the mage section here, so I don't really see the point of going any further with the other pets incompetence. Part of the bug here is that every time you summon a pet the autocast of spells reset to non-autocast, so it doesn't "save the settings" of your previous summon as it should. This part is fairly easy to get passed with a simple macro command* though. The major problem here is that even though you set it to autocast the damn elemental insists that it's melee attacks are better than the 700-800 non-crit waterbolts. The only way I've found a way around this is to manually cast waterbolt on the target (with the help of various macros**, can be done without ofc). But this forces you to babysit the bastard for the 40 secs you have him summoned. I can't even begin to understand how people stand playing classes with permanent pets, but again mage section and all that. Hopefully you can have a look at this asap, because it's a huge thorn in the side for frost mages.
There might be a way around it, but I sure as hell haven't been able to figure it out (except by manually casting it). If someone has a temporary fix I would be grateful if you could poke me in-game and tell me about it.

Re: Mage Bugs - Report here
Quite hard to find something official, which never existed. The mage review made it scale with 10%, and there was another increase with 2.3 (I wasn't aware of that)... but 10% to 80%? Makes me start believing Power Word Shield is borked aswell (works fine though, 30%). =pDarkgroom wrote:Find me some official notes and i will get it back to 10%.
Found some threads at elitist jerks ->
http://elitistjerks.com/f47/t19038-spel ... ts/#Priest
http://elitistjerks.com/f31/t16979-mage_tc_after_2_3_a/
states 30%, and makes more sense... seriously 80%? Blizzard never tried gaps like that. Looks more as if they wanted items to have a bigger impact on it... with 80% they'd have lowered the base amount into oblivion.
Tap Peekaboo: Upset target moron.

Re: Mage Bugs - Report here
How's it going with the class bugs? I know you have much more to do besides this, but some of them are quite severe. Not complaining that they aren't getting delivered, just want an update on the situation if that's alright.Darkgroom wrote:I have been really busy with real life lately, this weekend I will bring out more fixes and updates again!
