What is the bug?
Fear breaks too early/easily. (druids roots too maybe?)
What kind of bug is it? (Quest, Class, Spell, PvE)

How can you reproduce it?
Create a warlock, duel someone, dot him with corruption, curse of agony and siphon life for example, then cast fear and check how long it takes for it to break, now repeat that at least 30 times to get some statistics.
Please describe, in detail, what is suppose to occur when this bug happens:
The target is supposed to stay in fear for a little longer

damage breaks fear too easily, I assume it is because you've got the formula wrong.

Well not much since it's hard to prove these type of things, I guess you could watch a lot of old videos and see people getting feared fully dotted. But other than that I remember that fear could never break literally instantly like it does many times on this server.

The threshold for the amount of damage required to break fear should be very very high the first 1 or 2 seconds.
It should be some type of formula that have a number that represents lets say the "power/health of the fear" and when you take damage during fear that should go down. However that number itself represents a % chance of fear breaking. The higher your "fear power" is the smaller the chance for it to break. When your power reduces the chance for fear to break increases, however it should not be linear, but exponential.
Lets say you start at 10 000 "power", at that point there is 0% chance for fear to break. Upon taking 1000 damage there was a 1-3% chance for fear to break,
now you have 9000 "power" left.
You take another 1000 damage, there was a 5-15% chance to break
Now you have 8000 "power" left
You take another 1000 damage, there was a 35-50% chance for fear to break
Now you have 7000 "power" left
You take another 1000 damage, there was a 90% chance for fear to break
Now you have 6000 "power" left
You take another 1000 damage, there was a 99% chance for fear to break.
Now you have 5000 "power" left
You take another 1000 damage, there was a 99,9% chance for fear to break.
etc
Something like that.

skimmed through the video and found some spots when he used fear:
@2:11 warrior is fully dotted and feared for 5-6 seconds before it breaks
@7:11 priest gets feared when he is at 14% hp, dies without it breaking when fully dotted & rogue hitting on him.
@9:18 mage gets feared with full dots on him, uses trinket after about 1,5-2 seconds
@9:23 mage gets feared again with full dots on him, uses Wotf after about 2-3 seconds.
@17:04 rogue gets feared, he's fully dotted and only after landing an immolate and starting to drain his life fear breaks, which is after about 3 seconds.
Now I know all of these scenarios CAN happen on Smolderforge but it is more common that it just breaks instantly, on retail fear pretty much never broken instantly, it would almost always last at least 3+ seconds when a target was fully dotted. The current formula needs to be changed/tweaked since it is inaccurate.
I'm guessing mages frost nova & druid roots should have a similar formula? or perhaps even the same one?

I don't think it breaks too easily but the chance is indeed wrong.
Sometimes you can take 10k damage in fear without breaking and sometimes when dotted the fear breaks on first tick. It's possibly just random.

The times fear never break on a target that is fully dotted is extremely rare, possibly 1% chance of that happening or so... The times however when it breaks instantly is very often.Dep wrote:I don't think it breaks too easily but the chance is indeed wrong.

Fixed.
But still completly random, can still break on first tick (but should have a very limited chance.)
