Screen freeze issue
Screen freeze issue
Hello all is it just me or anyone else have the screen freeze issue while playing? I get this all the time in bgs i'ts like 10 to 20 sec and it is really annoying I play holy paladin and when i need to heal i get this issue can the admin or some one fix this? I don't think this happens bcause of my computer specs I play on other server and I play fine
Re: Screen freeze issue
What cpu do you have? If your cpu has hyperthreading.. It could be that. In your bios there is an option (hyperthreading), if you turn it off you shouldnt have the issues anymore. I had the issue with sometimes it would lock up for like 10 seconds randomly, hope that helps.
Re: Screen freeze issue
Any other 2.4.3 servers have it, you might just experience it more frequently here. No one has really found the cause for it yet. I'm friends with the developers over at AT and we actually discuss and share some core performance patches with each other -- they have not located the problem, nor done anything to fix it there either (some people say the don't exist there).
It is a mulithreading problem so there is a method that can seriously reduce the amount you have, depending on your CPU.
Open Task Manager -> Right click on WoW.exe -> Click "Set Affinity" -> Leave only 1 box still checked.
This sets only 1 core if you have multiple cores on your processor to run WoW. In today's standards that will run FINE on 1 core alone.

Re: Screen freeze issue
After doing all of that I still got the issue. It usually freezes 1 time a day (sometimes more) and if it does I have to wait like 10 mins till it unfreezes and sometimes it doesn't even, then I just go reboot to fix it.
Don't know what's wrong but I doubt it's my laptop since WoW is a old game and I can run Call of Duty 4 and Crysis lol on my laptop so that's definatly not the problem.
I hope this will be looked further into since this is the most annoying bug and I have it since I started playing here. It's not nice to get freezed for a whole arena match or battleground and lose it in the end because of that you cannot do anything.

If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you..

Worked for me, haven't had a freeze in forever.Henhouse wrote:Any other 2.4.3 servers have it, you might just experience it more frequently here. No one has really found the cause for it yet. Another fix I've had for a while is to reduce your view distance, it works for some.
I like turtles because they're so chill. They don't hurt anyone. They're just like, "Hey man, I want to swim, and maybe eat some lettuce. But I'm gonna take my time getting there, I'm not in a rush. Because I'm a turtle."
Re: Screen freeze issue
I'd like to add that I am using Windows 7. It took me a moment to realize that I had to do as Henhouse instructed on the "Processes" tab, rather than the "Applications" tab. Hopefully this is useful information to those lost souls out there. I know I was lost for a short while. lol ><
Anyway, here's to hoping it works. <3
