About the mass dispell and stealth...

Post by Imperium »

Just fyi, mass Dispel is SUPPOSED to break stealth(was reading that twitter update, not sure if that's how you meant to phrase it though) Only thing I see wrong with Mass Dispel is it doesn't work and is replace by Dispel. Other than that it seems fine.

Got this on WoWWiki:
Patch 2.2.0 (2007-09-25): Has a chance to be resisted when dispelling immunity effects. This will be displayed in the combat log. In addition, it will no longer cause rogues and druids in Cat Form to lose Stealth. The flashing area graphic has been removed.

Huh, that's strange. Guess I was wrong, was 100% sure it was meant to break stealth. Then again I got my source from retail(Wotlk...).

The Distract issue has been fixed but we're having to do some extended testing on Mass Dispel. I swear I got it working, then when I tested it again it was broken >_<.

Awh, lol, good luck and keep up the work. Also found this on Mass Dispel, patch 2.4.x

Dispels magic in a 15 yard radius, removing 1 harmful spell from each friendly target and 1 beneficial spell from each enemy target. Affects a maximum of 10 friendly targets and 10 enemy targets. This dispel is potent enough to remove Magic effects that are normally undispellable.
"This dispel is potent enough to remove Magic effects that are normally undispellable."
That should apply to stealth as well as immunites, i.e., Bubble, Ice Block.
Edit: Source was Thottbot for this one.

Patch changes

* Patch 2.0.10 (2007-03-06): Changed to always pick immunity-granting effects as its target. Note that even if Ice Block, Divine Shield, Divine Protection or Banish are dispelled by Mass Dispel, you'll still get the immune message even though it has been removed.
* Patch 2.2.0 (2007-09-25): Has a chance to be resisted when dispelling immunity effects. This will be displayed in the combat log. In addition, it will no longer cause rogues and druids in Cat Form to lose Stealth. The flashing area graphic has been removed.
* Patch 2.4 (2008-03-25): Increased the number of affected targets from 5 to 10.
Got this for wowwiki. First link that came on google on this issue.
