Well, it's an instant death. They don't feel any pain. It's probably more humane than most slaughterhouses. If you want to see something truly sick you should see what the vietnamese do when they sacrifice animals. They cut them in half while they're still alive and screaming, it's cruel as fuck. Besides, these people are gurkhas. They're killing machines. You should read these articles about them, they're awesome:

What can I say, I'm obsessed with knives. I'm planning on buying the same sort of kukri that was used to behead that bull for my birthday. They're used to behead dozens of buffalo and bulls in a single strike during the Dashain festival. They're also dirt cheap compared to other hand made knives/swords since Nepal is quite a poor country. $100 will buy you an indestructible kukri. I'm going to be holding out on the big one incase there is ever a zombie apocalypse.

Not that anyone is interested but here are the two kukris I already own:

This one is a modern design that cost about $60, they gave me a free engraving on it which was nice of them:

I also have this WW2 kukri my mothers boyfriend gave me, it belonged to his uncle who was a crazy Irishman who joined the gurkhas in India for the sake of it:
