I asked if someone could provide better specs than those I have posted since I am not an expert, you helped me with priest specs so there is your name. Why do I add (by playername)? Just because most of the specs weren't added by me, but by other players, and I don't want it to look like I made all of those when somebody just gets the link from me and checks the talents.

Ps: Owl maybe it's better to add a note for main/starter specs and other/fun specs, to be easy for new players to filter the information.

I understrand the points you made, you can post both specs in your version of it.
Yes frostbite its a really good talent, the same way you say people die on bgs for not enough cc/survival, so do flag carriers survive due to lack of damage, resto druid manage to survive a nuke while silenced and you don't have sustain for the hot's, etc
You're thinking in a utilitarist way, i'm thinking about a maximizing damage way.

It's a thread about builds, and we're talking about builds. Spamming or going off topic isn't really what we're doing, and isn't a problem since the specs posted goes to the front anyway.

And you don't seem to get my point. Frostbite isn't just for survivability or cc. As I said, it will increase your damage output. Even by moving 2 points from Arcane Mind, 2 points from Mind Mastery, and the one in Piercing Ice to Frostbite and Improved Blink, you'll do more consistent damage because of Shatters. Why? Because as I said before, the whole point of the spec is to crit. Don't you think that a 15% chance to increase your crit by 50% gives you a pretty retarded damage boost?

On top of that, Frost bolt doesn't scale as well with spell power as Pyroblast does, which means that spell power isn't as effective with said spec. It's still good. Very, very good. It just doesn't scale as well as it does with a pom-pyro spec (for your 2m spotlight that is). On live, Pyroblast has a spell power coefficient of 115%, while Frost bolt has 71.4%. That's coupled with the fact that Frost bolt has gotten way more damage buffs in the various patches than Pyroblast has post-2.4.3.

Just because you happen to have slightly less spell power on paper doesn't mean that you'll do less damage. And just because you're pom/ap speced doesn't mean that you only have to focus on your damage every 2m. If you wanna go 100% glass cannon and dismiss most of the strengths of your class, fine. But not picking up talents like Frostbite is not a good call, since it'll buff your damage output more than anything else.

All in all, moving points out of Arcane Mind, Mind Mastery and Piercing ice is better in every possible way for your spec, and your approach to the spec. It may seem insignificant since it's just a few points, but the difference will be immense. And since you don't really care about your utility, you may as well drop Improved Blizzard as well. So if you want to go pve-retard, this spec is better by far. The reason I'm not posting another variation of the spec is because I'm not talking about another variation, I'm talking about improving the spec you posted.

Doesn't matter. As long as you have the core talents of a spec, you can move other points around to whatever suits your needs.

Vamp Embrace bugs and keeps you in combat as long as you have dots on a target (At least that used to happen, not quite sure if it's fixed)

Thanks to everybody for helping me to develop the list! I think it's almost complete, there will be always some unusual or just different talent variations though, depending on individual preferences.
I have also loved those discussions, imo it's the best way to provide decent setups when two people argue and want to prove that their idea is right.
Now I just hope wowprovider site won't get down!
