Posting in here because they never read the bug forums.

New players cant equip items and talk in chat.

Whatever random needless restrictions for new players you guys think of next, make sure it doesnt shaft new people coming in.

Keep trying.

I forgot why they implented this feature but iirc new players can chat after 15 mins of playtime (I don't know about gear sounds weird to me).

I made a char to test it, after an hour or so , I still couldnt chat (comes up in chat as "you cannot speak this language") and I get "you dont have the right proficiency for this item" whenever i try and equip a cloth item as a mage. I learned everything from the trainers, deleted cache and everything.

Still cant do anything.

Also had other people in LFG talking about the same issue.

To prevent new players from cheating.

It's 15 minutes until you may queue for a BG, or go to the neutral dueling area. There is currently no chat restriction.

This issue has been resolved. If you have made any new character during this time that was affected, please delete it and re-create.

Not sure if it's related but I made a character during this time and though it doesn't have the problems detailed in this thread it's chat in the LFG channel is not visible to me but visible to others. I spent 5$ on the toon so I don't want to do delete it but is this likely the problem?

No, this is just messed up settings. Right click on chat channel General and see if LFG is enabled in the first place (sometimes it can be turned off). If it is and still nothing, try hitting Default Settings to reset all chat settings. If still no, Clear Cache and delete WTF folder. This will reset addons settings, unless you specifically back them up. But that usually will fix it by then.

I'm using german client and everytime I port to a different area or joining arena/bg or w/e it buggs and I can't read nor write in LFG sigh :/

Hm, perhaps we should disable LFG and create a user-forced join World channel that all members join by default and can opt to leave. May work better.

This is what most other servers have which works nicely. A general chat channel that everyone is in by default unless they choose to leave. It's used for pretty much everything, buying/selling, group finding, chit chat etc.
