Coming Soon: Isle of Quel'Danas
Coming Soon: Isle of Quel'Danas
For the past week some of the GMs have been hard at work on working on a new and big exciting feature for Smolderforge. First, it was suggested we make Isle of Quel'Danas a PvP zone like it once was before Hyjal was made to replace it. While that was a good suggestion, we already had Hyjal set in motion and did not want to abandon it. However, with Isle of Quel'Danas a sanctuary the GMs and I discussed many possibilities to what we could do. Make Quel'Danas a PvP zone without the guards killing you for fighting, questing for some way to get badges, etc.
After much thought and consideration the GMs have all decided on an amazing new feature for Smolderforge. Isle of Quel'Danas will become a popular area on Smolderforge, here why:
Isle of Quel'Danas will be a questing zone for everyone. Instead of gold rewards such as in retail, the rewards will be Fragments of Justice. Collecting 20 of these will grant you the ability to turn them in for 5 Badges of Justice, or 40 for 10, etc. Each quest will grant you 5, 2 or 3 Fragments of Justice. We've done a lot of testing and a few fixes on the quests and we'll be taking a few more days to do some extended-testing. I also went on and added their correct text-gossip on all the NPCs which took a while so maybe someone noticed that already.
Professions. Yes, only two, however -- we wanted to get the big ones but not the ones that craft gear really (apart from the gear-tools in Engineering). Engineering and Alchemy will both be available to learn, get materials, and recipes. Some recipes have badge requirements however.
The catch? You have to be exalted to use the vendors. I actually programmed that in C++, however I used the Netherwing Drake vendor as a template to program it :). Well, enough talking here's some screenshots from the dev server:
Note: The stuff in still in development, no changes have been made to the live server yet. Trainers are still on their way and most "epic" recipes will require prices.

Oh guys that looks nice! Is it possible to revert everyone's reputation with the SSO back to 0? A lot of people have it set to exalted. And, Is that a tanner version of Henhouse? :o

Sadly I don't think we're going to delete people's reputation. However(not yet), but rep rates will be riased to 5 from 1 so it'll be 5 times easier to get exalted. It used to be 100 but that would just be pointless.

Re: Coming Soon: Isle of Quel'Danas
I was so exited about scripting in C++ I made a (useless) scripted NPC, check it out:
I sort of used another already-existing script to make this, but with a few modifications. Looking at it, it is starting to make sense and I'm a quick learner.
This has nothing to do with Quel'Danas, I'm sorry.

Re: Coming Soon: Isle of Quel'Danas
PvP will still be allowed on Quel'Danas? Or only outside in questing areas and not in the town?
