I decided today to come back to smolder (and wow in general) after a good 5 or so month break, and I looked at the changelog and saw the whole "Fixed issue where Rogues could Cloak Flare"....

You've been able to cloak flare in TBC and Wotlk (wotlk's 100% confirmed.) As for cata/mop/wod, I'm not sure. I didn't play retail rogue at that point, but I know you can in this patch guaranteed. I played a hunter to 1900 in 3s in s2 (Yay BM, super broken) and a rogue to 1850 in 2s in s3. (Rdruid rogue was a helluva tough I swear). Rating aside, I'm pretty sure I didn't imagine doing it, and I'm also pretty sure that it's one of the few mechanics that let rogues have a chance vs hunters at the time. (Not having CS opener vs BM hunters was basically ripperino)

If you have proof of it not being performable in TBC on retail, (You can't say shit about wotlk, I've got proof right there) show me, because I'm honestly baffled that this change could go through.

There is no patch note which shows a modification of this fact through the updates.

Nobody here is talking about CoS giving immunity to rogues on flare.

You are just wrong, it never worked like this. Not in TBC and not in WOTLK. The video you posted is 100% from a privat.

Wowwiki was updated after wotlk/cata when they made the change.

It wasn't 100% common knowledge, I mean, if you really need proof, I can get my friend Reflex to talk to you, He's been gladiator on retail 5 times, all of his titles are from TBC/Wotlk.

And as for molten, they did it for the same reason it was done here, lack of evidence against it, because it wasn't common knowledge. Only a handful of rogues out of the majority abused it, and even then, you've always been able to abuse MS to get a cheapshot off, mix that with the short duration of cloak and the delay of seeing a rogue after they open, you've got a cocktail for missing the buff altogether.

Whatever, I know you'll keep the change and nothing I say will change your minds unless I found something 100% concrete, but that would take digging and I'd rather not waste my time.

I played TBC / WOTLK by myself, coding TBC for like 4-5 years, Cloak never gave immunity vs flare on any patch @tbc or wotlk. There are million proofs on the web, you won't find any proofs that it did worked on retail back then for obvious reasons (cus it didnt). Why should someone upload a WOTLK video to youtube with the title flare and cloak 2 years after CATA release.

Nowhere. The dude that uploaded it is however a private server player. It was uploaded 2012, which is quite a while post-wrath. And then there's the fact that you're the one in the position to prove this, if you want it changed. Not me, nor anyone else.

If CoS on Flare was working like you state, this would be a common knowledge, knowing that every Hunter use Flare on him when it comes to duels or arena.
