I mean I get your point of having a 2vs2 because he will have a hard time deciding who fights who and trying to avoid classes like resto druids or resto druids or like mage vs warrior, etc.. This also doesn't mean that there will not be other events so just leave it a 1vs1. From my opinion.

In my opinion this was made into a big deal. It's suppose to be a simple event, I think the registration took it a bit too far but I wasn't the one who started it so oh well.

It is not meant to be the end all and be all, but I wanted it to sound fun. Make Smolderforge a little more lively. : ) And yes I know there will be issues with like resto druids versus resto druids. But think of it this way, the person coming into the fight will have to choose their spec, their gear, everything to a point where they cannot just come in as resto. There is no point in being resto. In my opinion since everyone has time to prepare, find a good dueling spec. Some specs are best for 2v2, some 5v5, etc. Find a good dueling spec that is versatile. : )
Duels are a different aspect of the game. I wanted to make this just some fun but thank you for the people who are excited. I enjoy giving everyone this opportunity. It will be a blast.

1 vs 1 is retarted because some classes have clear advantage over some others in dueling. Just make it 2 vs 2, tyvm.

We have a 2v2 Tournament. It is called the season 6 arena bracket. People can join that if they would like. In my opinion 1v1 will be great for the players. They can use bandages and eat and drink as much they like, so this will deter from mages being able to kite a warrior a great deal. Or a druid just outlasting someone. If you don't like the idea and you do not want to join, do not insult the idea. Simply this is for fun and just to get the community together.
