One of the biggest problems for newcomers is finding out what to wear! Tell me.. how many times have you laughed at "le serbian guy socketing spirit as a rogue?"

Was not turned down. Was actually discussed very openly by Exsurgo. We're open to this idea but we feel there can be a lot of versatility with gear and specs for many players, so we'd essentially be enforcing a way of play that could be completely preference based.

We may do it in the future, but it's a non-essential feature so of course it gets put in the back.

You wouldn't be enforcing anything, it's up to the player if he wants to use the tool or not. The point would be to help new players who aren't that well-versed in the game/their class to get a decent basis to start off with. But sure, you could chose to play a 20/18/23 rogue with spell crit and strength gems, but the "choice" is in 100% of the cases based in lack of knowledge, not preference.

The players who knows the game/class will still sort their shit by themselves.

All in all, pros outweighs cons, since there aren't really any cons.
