Battleground balancing system failure

4v9 WSG
9v15 AB
9v14 AB
10v15 EOTS

Those are just some of the battlegrounds I played in the last hours.
This happens because people que and then don't get it or because they leave the BG and there are no other players to replace them.
The resoult is that we are back to the old problem of unbalanced battegrounds.
Another problem is that when you queque with a group it might take hours before you can get in, experienced this a few times with passion premades.

I have a few ideas on how to fix this.
1. Punish players who que but don't get in with deserter
2. Rise the minimum number of players required for a battelground to run, if a 15 man battleground requires 12 players instead of 9 a 15v12 would be much less inbalanced then a 15v9 graveyard farm.

I suggested the option 2 a while ago while we were talking about the balancing system before it was introduced, it was ignored and you can see the consequences your self.

Cheers
Dooma

solution: dont make 10man premades.

1. oh lemme go to the mall via the portal to get poisons.
*clicks portal at the moment a bg pops* fuck now i got deserter due to bad timing.
2. although i agree with this it probably doesnt work like that. i think that Henhouse probably has to raise the MPR(minimum player requirement) for every bg all at once

Good job, Applez. You fucking nailed it. <3

I love hitting a portal and the BG pops right as I do so... If that gave deserter it would probably piss the new crowd out, who don't even know changing zones cleared the BG spot. Thank god BG queues are not oriented this way.

I also agree the number of players needed for a BG needs some tweaks, mainly for the off hours where population hits the floor. Though I don't think it works in a carpet like situation, Applez. I think he can change it by BG, not across the line. WSG closes at either 5 or 6, while it's around 8 or 9 for AB/Eye. and somewhere in the 20's for AV.

This isn't a system failure, this is just people leaving the BG too often / people not entering the BG when it pops. Completely unrelated issue.

In the screenshot you provided, there are 4 Alliance, meaning the BG will be forced to close if more do not join. No more Horde can join since at one time 9 Horde invitations, and 9 Alliance invitations went out. The BG isn't going to kick random Horde players to balance it, it's waiting on the Alliance players to accept their pop, or to catch up since they are below the threshold.

There is nothing wrong with the system here, it is purely a player problem in this scenario.
