Unable to connect Error

Hey guys!
I just registered my account, downloaded the pre-installed client, changed the realmlist file, but i get the unable to connect error.

Are the servers down or is it something on my side?

You probably did not save the realmlist correctly, or set it correctly. It must be .wtf, not .wtf.txt and must be in the same folder as Wow.exe, and not in Data.
