The manga is better though, after the Shishio conflict the anime and manga split so you don't actually get to see the awesomeness of the next arc unless you read it.

Oh cool, I might have to check the manga out too then, thank god for All Mangas Reader.

I heard that the first Full Metal Alchemist anime completely broke from the manga storyline too.
