Poll: TBC Title Code reimplementation

So the reason we have not put the title code back in yet is because of the bugginess of it. Basically the reason it works on Wrath and not here is because of the way titles are stored for a player. On the 2.4.3 OregonCore, titles are still stored in this really large data blob that is very bad and hard to edit values in and doesn't like to be bothered... On Wrath TrinityCore2 and MaNGOS both extracted the data they needed from it and deleted it.
At OregonCore we want that too, but the problem is it's extremely hard because it's hard to pull the values out of an like 5000 characters long blob of numbers. Also they change for each game version and considering they did it with a Wrath client... causes problems for us. So what currently happens is our title code sees donors that have titles and is like LOL REMOVE and then when you logout and come back there's like a 50% chance the data blob will be like "hey didn't he have donor titles?" and the title code will be like "No..." and then you login and get a WoW Crashes. And sometimes you'll get up to 2 WoW Crashes before you can log back into your character.
So I can put this back in and MAYBE after like a month the wow errors will start to stop because of so many times trying to overwrite your current title number. So it's up to you guys if I add it back or not.

I voted in no, because the crashes are annoying and I was one of the "victims" when the title code was first implemented. I had two fatal erros before I could log in wow, and even log other character in the same accout without closing WoW.
On the other hand, I think those who want to have their titles should still farm. When you reach 15k, a GM can add the title for you. That's my suggestion, since there won't be much people reaching 15k and I think it's not hard for a GM to add a single title.

I really wanted the Grand Marshal title. But if it will mean WoW crashes and other bugs then it isn't worth it. So I voted no.

The crashes are only on login, not something that would occur again whilst in the middle of playing.

Well that doesn't seem too bad but it seems like an unnecessary bug for a PvP title.
Also, if it isn't implemented - will it never be implemented into Smolderforge, or will we just have to wait a bit longer?

I'd say wait a _lot_ longer but I could be wrong. Just depends on what gets done, the guy that was helping me for a while with the code must be on holiday break because I have not seen him on the Oregon forums in a while and I made an update to the thread about getting the data extracted with some more information. So who knows, we may work on it some, but it's not something that's really easy at the moment. We could make it where a new character database started off extracting the data correctly, but unfortunately it's the getting the data out of our current characters and all that stuff I mentioned before that's super hard.

Somewhere in there is like 10 values that are still used, including daily HKs, yesterday, lifetime, title, etc.

MaNGOS finally implemented it and wrote the SQL for it, getting it ready and soon we'll have the data blob extracted out of our server and probably get the PvP titles back in!
