Do NOT trust Blizzard.

Friend of mine bought WoW retail acc from some guy few years ago. he had 3 80s and few 60+
He got his priest to 85 in 2 days, and, when trying to log in the next day, it says that password is wrong 'n shit. Email to blizzard, 3 days for a reply, and WOAH, what blizzard says:
"Greetings,

Thank you for your e-mail. Unfortunately the account in question has been reclaimed by the original owner of the account. We apologise for any inconvenience caused

Apparently, that "previous owner" is a faggot, he's even got my friends battle.net account. All of my friend's 80s were high-end geared both pve and pvp. Blizzard does NOT care that my friend had played with that acc on 1 static IP for like 2 years already, that other guy has something to prove that he's the original owner of that acc(i don't really remember how things work there). Blizzard ain't even going to give my friend back his battle.net account, which is HIS from beginning.
The best is that friend has totally spent shitloads of money in wow, all expansions, cata too, all those gamecards for those years, 'n shit. As my friend isn't the original owner of retail wow account, we can't really say that account has been stolen, so yeah, pretty much fucked up, and someone has got pretty good account for nothing.

To correct you, don't trust people you buy accounts from.

The original owner always, and can easily, reclaim an account. Account sharing / selling is against the terms of use because it's not to be reclaimed by anyone else and Blizzard isn't going to sit there and hold records of who bought who's account. The original owner is entitled to all rights to that account. More of, he should actually have been banned when Blizzard found out he sold his account.

I know it's unfortunate but if you want to play WoW, you have to make your OWN account and level them legitimately. Leveling isn't hard anymore, especially with Cataclysm the new content is much easier and fun, there's no excuse to having to buy an account. Even if you want it easier do Recruit-a-Friend and get to level 60 in 13 hours like I did on 2 characters then have a friend grant you levels for an instant 60.

this. Leveling isn't part of the game anymore with RAF.

He bough that account back in TBC, he's been playing more than 2 years on same IP, dunno, I would give him that account, since it's kinda obvious that he's neither thief nor anything and has been paying all that money to blizz.

It's Blizz so obviously they'll just go with the rules and don't take that kind of things into an account, because it's easier on them. They'll be back to sucking people dry of their money quick enough. :)

Why would Blizzard help your friend? He bought the account, it's against the ToS to buy WoW accounts. :l

It does suck for the account to be taken back after TWO YEARS though...

I did something similar to this. My Aion account was taken when the game first came out, had a lvl 13. I figured I'd wait a while to take it back, and when I finally did, I suddenly had a lvl 47(level cap is 50). Sucks for the guy who spent all his time leveling my char, but then again, he accuired the account illegally so I couldn't care less. Neither does Blizzard. Buying an account is pmuch the same as hacking 1, both are against the rules. Blizzard don't rly care how much time/money u spent on that account afterwards, u broke the rules.

too bad.

Yeah now that we're telling stories...

I had a 48 rogue, gave up, sold it for $40 is TBC, decided to take it back in Wotlk, had a Naxx geared 80 rogue(from the original) on a new server and sex changed, and a 73 dk. Someone wasted some money. Btw, I got it back AND resold it for $120. Sup.
