It is a longboarding video. Ya, I never was into skateboarding but I snowboarded. A friend of mine got a longboard and I used his a lot. Got my own for christmas and it is so much fun.

That is one of my favorite videos. I could help you get started. Find a good boardshop nearby, get all the best stuff for the cheapest price. Overall my board has cost me like 325$ but if you get good you can win these challenges that give you some money off another board. My friend and I won $200 off our next ones.
