Unban Antique

Post by Aklem »

Dear Smolderforge Staff, please allow my humble being to address the current issue from my point of view and hopefully by the end of my perhaps discomforting speech persuade some to push for a change.
Now, I am not going to make an awfully long debate on what Antique was wrong or not because lets be honest whenever there's a conflict its generally happening because both ends of the string are held up too tight thus creating the tension in the string, an old married couple blaming each other would be a perfect analogy.
With that being said I do not under any circumstances blame Endania for the happened and I truly appreciate the time and the hard work he's put into this servers' community until today.

Back to the roots of the story The reason why Antique got banned starts with Zats ban right when Antique was playing 2s with him thus ruining their perfect 36:0 score. The ban arrived somewhat unexpected to Antique's eyes and of course made him panic and that was followed by irrational behavior. In shorter words after Zats ban we have 3 things left.
1. Angry Endania, hasty and hungry for Blood
2. Confused Antique, hurt and seeking answers.
3. Typical drama situation , mundane and foreseeable.

I'm going to end the story now because the post isn't about who's right or wrong nor am i trying to start Internet drama and I'm going to cut straight to the chase.
I do not believe Antique deserves to get banned based upon someone else's mistake.
I do not believe Antique deserves to be banned because of a situation plenary with hatred and discomfort just happened to be around him at the time.
I do not believe Antique deserves to be banned soloely because a hasty situation went wrong, an IP ban is usually a felony of greater caliber and a GM's mind should be completely free of feelings towards one at the time.

I soloely proclaim Antique guilty, not of the ban, i proclaim him guilty for being in the wrong time in the wrong place.

Pursuant to AX Guilt is absent when the act is justified and i see Antiques anger being justified more than just justified, i see it as a chance for Smolderforge as a whole to grow and prosper.

I truly hope my speech was efficacious, after all my speech was meant to mollify your hearts and more than anything I want it to be useful. I now encourage you Henhouse and Staff, take the right decision, do not let ranks rules and textbooks affect your decision, do it by heart just like the ban was pressed from a heart of hatred, i want it to be lifted from a heart of compassion.

Always yours, Aklem Shurrpak.

Thank you for taking the time to write out a non-heated and formal comment on this situation.

However, unless the information was misdirected, Antique did not recieve a permanent ban. Yes, one was placed at first but it has been lowered to a 24 hour suspension.

While Endania took a little harsh actions, I didn't see a full reason to place such lengthy suspension as he did, however I respected his opinions and tried not to fully undo his actions. I understand that Antique posted out of anger for getting pulled out of arena, but if he had just spoken with me I would have understood the situation and been perfectly happy to remove the loss at a server maintenance. However, he impulsively did flame at Endania for doing his job and that got him in trouble, but Endania, after just banning Zat for opening pointless and annoying tickets, took the actions a little harsh on Antique, and I realize that.

Zat's suspension was lowered to one hour as I felt he needed some kind of warning after continuing to open tickets -- it simply acted as a warning on the account. I also had removed Antique's IP ban since I understand he has a brother that plays and I didn't want to restrict the brother from being able to play freely.

Sorry for the confusion on the matter, but it's hopefully been resolved. These matters, in the future, need to be escalated to my attention instead of raging on the forums to the GM that took the actions. I receive and read emails at [email protected] more than I'm in-game doing support. Any matter emailed there will get ready quickly and allow me to reply and get involved.
