pre tbc no arena = i dislike .. about wotlk if i wanted to play wotlk i was gonna go retail and i think making a new server w/e it is its gonna suck cause peopl from the TBC SF are gonna move there and in fact there are gonna be 2 low populated and bad servers instead of 1 good

Guys chill out. There's still gonna be good 'ol Smolderforge on 2.4.3, except now there will be two REALMS, one Smolderforge TBC and one Wotlk, you don't need to look for another server, in fact nothing will change except amount of players(whether it decreases or increases is up to the stability of the Wotlk server) so I don't see the problem here. If you don't wanna play Wotlk, don't.

It is still in our interest to look into this after Wrath. Please keep in mind a PreBC server would be completely different than of Smolderforge. I've mentioned this before in a few places, but the intention would be to replicate PreBC. Meaning stable economy, professions(start at probably 150 or something), earning Tiers, no malls but cities, etc.

The raids would be scaled down from 40 man to like 10 mans because of how many people we could hold. Arena would be perfectly possible. I simply have to edit Arena.cpp or something to make the arena level 60, not 70 and tada! We have brackets, however there will NOT be arena gear. So get the Knight Lieutenant gear for PvP. XD

We would run on 2.4.3 because of unsupportiveness/unstableness with 1.12 clients and servers. (1.12 was YEARS ago, server programs were very unstable then, no scripting and mostly NO line of sight yet.)

People are debating whether WOTLK is good for WoW and good for Smolderforge. In my opinion Smolderforge needs some sort of change. The server we have now is fantastic and still has a great deal of action and participation. With the new Wrath server we could appeal to many new members, allow a lot of great game changes and bad game changes and maybe see how Henhouse could balance it that Blizzard cannot fix. In some ways people dislike Wrath because of the amount of unbalanced arena there is. In actuality many have said that 3v3 and 5v5 are not very unbalanced and actually are more fun than some of the TBC matches. 2v2 is by far the most unbalanced and is broken, hence the removal of 2v2 gladiator. Saying that, there are many things we can do with the new system like the tiers, possibly giving everyone a chance to get the best PvE gear like t9.5 heroic. Henhouse has spoken to me about this and I see it as a great improvement for everyone here.
Comments, concerns?

How can you balance these:

- Destrolocks bursting your ass off during shadowfury stun (oh, instant cast aswell)
- Melee shripping every cloth in matter of seconds
- Healers nearly immortal

WITHOUT gimping the whole balance even more.
If people wanna play wrath, they go on retail. Earning gear has NEVER been as easy as it is now. Oh, look at the upcoming 5man in 3.3...Normal mode drops iLvl213 items and heroic mode drops iLvl232 items... FROM A 5MAN DUNGEON.

Just my 2 cents.

You can't.

Destro locks have counters.
Clothies consist of mages, warlocks, priests...Priests can survive a great deal. Mages are very well balanced in defense. Warlocks have teleport and healthstone with trinket is nice.
Druid heals are very good but can be taken down in a good stun and dispel setup from a priest, warlock, mage or shaman.

3v3 is very balanced in the game at the moment. As I can say, yes burst was broken, and still have some remnants, Blizzard has cut down on this, nearly destroying beast cleave within one week of its birth.

I did Blackwing Lair today with my guild. I cannot express how creative/fun that raid was. On SF it's bugged because ScriptDev2 started when BC was out, never finishing the old stuff which we could look into. It was great fun and I recorded the Nefarian fight.
