Soo...
Back in the day there was a sick Multi-boxer on Smelgorfirge called Stina, He caused a-lot of drama in game and also on the forums about if it should/should not be allowed.
There was a thread or more of a community discussion around the whole topic and Henry, you kinda sorta beat around the bush regarding the whole thing. There was a poll I believe but the outcome of that is lost in the abyss somewhere.
Given population boosts recently I've attempted to bring my team out of retirement here and also on another server where it is confirmed legal within server gameplay t&c.
As for Smelgorfirge I am in the dark around it all, there hasn't been any information for a while regarding the question, anything that was mentioned as in blueposts have gone from the forums from what I and a select number of ex GM friends can see.
From the current GM's that are online a few have said yes, other have no comment.
From the horses mouth what is the standing of it at the moment?
Is it just pvp, or is it idling. & pve also?
Under what circumstances would it be ok to use multiboxing on smelgorfirge?
If the above is a catirgoric no, any look to re-ask the community with the current growth? As we did with the npc for asking questions.
As a disclaimer the footage shown is not recent.

Thanks for the reply.
I can see that 80% of your posts on these forums are only one or two lines.
Sadly, you might of skipped some of the context of my thread as it warrants for a more educated response.
Id be happy for you to have another crack at it though.

Well I couldn't see a reason to expand my comment. I thought it gave you an answer to your main question, and I haven't been here that long to know the main reason to why it's not allowed, which is why I didnt mention it, that's something for @Henhouse to explain further.
At the moment it's not allowed in any circumstances, and it's been like that for a long time.
I don't think anyone in the staff support multiboxers nor want it to be allowed on Smolderforge any time soon. I personally feel like it will only make other players quit if they play against/with a multiboxer.
I believe it's really unfair(, and playing against a 40-man balance druid multiboxer in retail only makes me want to kill myself.).

Thanks again, although i understand the reasoning behind your reply there is alot of flaws.
Ive personally been here on varius accounts over 5/6 years I've been through all of the drama regarding this.
The main issue that plagued the community is that post Stina there was a peroid of around a year when the population dropped quite alot.
During this peroid there was alot of mages/boomkins/shamans multiboxing battlegrounds. As there was only really two battlegrounds going at any given time the experience was a lack-luster due to coming against a multiboxer with pocket healers.
As the server is going through a-lot of changes now in terms of fixes and a population increase i wanted to voice the opinion of the niche market of multiboxing.
To continue on what you have said, i agree it is an unfair advantage to multibox in for example WSG, but do you think 4 shamans in a 40 v 40 battleground like AV Is enough to warrant an action ?
From a Pve view, are you telling me if i wanted to multibox a team worthy of clearing heroics that i can also be banned for this? I used to farm scarlet citidel by myself and no one ever battered an eye lid at it...
It has always and always will be a taboo on the server, yes it was legal on official and still is due to blizzard being money hungry, Cant really say this server isnt set up for proffit also so why would it be frowned upon to gain 4 donations instead of just 1?
Thanks Xios for your time in this discussion its great to gain insight from the current staff as well as old.

Stina was sick and also main ally :D I remember that fucker he could heal on some toons and you had to team up and CC him and also in BATMAN? we figured out what char that healed the most and bashed that first :D
Also that boomkin was boring to face due to haste stacking x5 moonfire spam.
I think it should be allowed, it's no differ from the zergfest anyway. Was a pleasure when you were boxing.

It's fun for one person, and fun for no one else. It's not allowed anymore, and it shouldn't have been.

Which is a great example of why it's not allowed in both PvE and PvP settings. Just because your computer can handle running 10 WoWs doesn't mean you should. It's a stupid advantage to accelerate the game at a pace it was never meant to be played. I always despised this sort of activity, we just never had a policy against it. It wasn't that there was no eye-batting, there were just no official rules prohibiting the behavior at those times.

The day that you can tell me that there is a difference to a multiboxer and 5 friends on skype is the day ill take that seriously.
5 lightning bolts being cast at one player is no different to coordiinating 5 randoms to a target or formulating a kill target on teamspeak/skype.
Fuck me sideways

It's the same person playing content solo, not 5+ friends that group with you. As I said before, it's not the way the game is meant to be played. If it was, you'd be able to play it solo and not require multiboxing.
It's not allowed.
