Who here doesn't remember the Tarren Mill / Southshore brawl that was on retail for ages? Add a quest or two for vanquishing their 'Mayor' and/or guards, and BOOM, Hyjal's been replaced with an area that doesn't have LoS issues clear to the moon and back. You could have res points in their prospective Inns. Since the entrances is rather narrow it would relieve the threat of reskilling, as if you're getting squashed you can always just logout instantly. Adding a single Sonic Boom guard on the inside to prevent Fak and Ezatt from res farming even though it wouldn't give honor or HK. Let's face it, even without a reward you know those two would do it.
Because the Inns are indoors it would prevent gy farming by casters. The spirit res could be in the basements. It is also a stunning zone. I can guarantee that if this was implemented and some youtube videos went up, it would bring a lot of old school nostalgic players to the server.

I don't think it would work. You have GY farming in open zones like Hyjal, you will here too. Eventually one side will push them up to the inn (or whatever base) and guards will be killing the players and they'll be sent back to their base to res. This will go on for a while and they'll get tired, logout and the amount of corpses will pile up tremendously. They will also try any exploit to get inside the inn, or sit there constantly dying trying.
We see this currently in Hyjal, and it would be the same here. It's nothing but trouble. There will be very little nostalgia, if any by doing this I think. You weren't level 70 in hillsbrad with 50 other people with you.

Actually world pvp at Tarren mill was frequent, even without the inn being a safe spot. And while it wasn't 50 people going after the city at once, there definitely was over half of that. I know people want more world pvp, we just lack an area that is noteworthy. Hyjal is not. There's too many issues there with LoS, and the fact half of it is blocked off makes it further constricting. There's very little you can do in Hyjal as far as escape routes, although Hillsbrad is easily three times the size. So it'd be far easier to evade enemies chasing you. or set up a coordinated assault. Right now, Next to nobody goes there, except alliance to grab rum. I just see so much potential, I wish we could tap into some of the zones I mentioned.

I would like to continue to see the community's input regarding this. I want to replace Hyjal, and replace it soon. I need everyone's ideas and opinions to go forward with any changes like this. Everyone throws out a lot of random, different ideas. If we could settle on a few and discuss them out, that would be excellent.

I think Hyjal should stay, it's a fun zone. But a FFA PvP zone would be nice too, somewhere where we could either duel or just beat eachother up would be fun. You'd have to make it so that no rules apply so nobody bitches, though.

What I saw on another server was Isle of Quel'Danas FFA you could go there as group (3 people max in group) or solo. You spawn at a random place on the isle and to avoid instant combat if you get there or respawn you stay (mage) stealthed for 10 seconds until you cast or move around. There are buffs around the isle like reset cooldowns, berserker, hp/mana buff.
You spawn at a random spot to avoid excessive corpsecamping.
You can join with max 3 people to avoid guild warsses there.
Could be other area because on Isle of Quel'Danas are the vendors and dailys here.

People actually do the quests there, and Henhouse has already said that was a complete failure. To prevent GY farming just make a large area and like 4-5 respawn points, and make people respawn always at a different point.
This would prevent GY camping because you would need like 60 players or more to camp all the respawn points and is also much easyer to implement then random respawn points.
Idea 2: Make an area that is high enought so players cant cast up there, this whould allow you to use the HS and get out if you want.
To allow people to go down whitout taking fall damage just add a few stairs that are low enoght to dont take fall damage but too high to claim up.
Something like the WSG graveyad but a bit higher because warriors can charge up there.

Group up with max 3 people.
Random respawn points to avoid excessive farming (because if you do 4 or 5 different spots then people will just memorize them or write them down and just check there everytime if they kill someone).
Put buffs around the area like: Beserker, food/mana buff, cooldowns reset etc.
If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you..
