FYI I was given access to HellGround's repository today. The server is about to blow through the roof in bug fixes and stability soon.

There are countless servers with a way higher population, while having significant bugs and issues. Population isn't related to that, most servers apparently just need to run, and have the proper people playing.

Smolderforge suffers from elitism, and HKs apparently play a part in it, while the vast majority of players is fed up with content too quickly. Those people who stay, either get alongwell with the "core" community, or have a lot of characters.
Imagine you're a new player, learn that it's all about PvP, get steamrolled by BG groups who trashtalk like 12 year olds, and get annoyed by butthurt duelers who take RNG too serious.
Quite the experience to stay I guess?

What Smolderforge needs is a better reputation in that regard, and that misery is NOT related to Hen who is the incarnation of honesty in that scene. The problem lies in people like you, congratulations for being part of the main reason why people leave.
I gotta admit that I play a part in that aswell, as I'm some sort of forum scourge... but well, I at least have many faces. =P
In the end I fended off many retards, so I'm awesome!

Anyway, point being, stop your ridiculous attempts to distract from the obvious. People leave, because the Smolderforge community consists of too many asshats.
Although now I'd be quite delighted to have HKs capped at 20k... and to prevent any issues, everything should be reset!

See what I mean? :]
There's even more than that when playing the game... the problem is, even if HKs get dealt with, some players will still GY camp in a premade, you probably should try that route to defend your "achievement".

Coming from someone that has played on private servers for about 4 years, you can almost guarantee population decreases.

In all the other server's i've played, some with a higher population than this, i never even thought about HK's because there wasn't any titles to be given. I think that is kinda helpful.

Also, pretty much every private server has had a wipe. Either to reset players like FAK or Ezatt, or to try and fix lag ... someone who really does like the server and is dedicated will stay.

New player perspective:
You come here as a new player and get all your s2 gear and you're so excited. You join AB only to find out that FAK is there with his whole team of HK whores, and you stand no chance. You will try everything to avoid getting into another bg with that person. As long as there is no cap, FAK will still do this, same with Ezatt, and the new player experience will just stop completely. The reason I stayed in the first place is because I eventually donated for my shaman to get better gear, because I COULDN'T earn it, due to FAK.

I would personally say to reset EVERYONE's Hk's. Keep the title system. And make the cap at 30k. Almost every server has done it, and it always works for the better. It's nothing short of expected, why? Because it's a free Private Server.

FAK: If you wanted to keep all of your kills, and know that they would never get changed/deleted/lowered/capped, you should have played retail.

You need to get some sunlight, because you clearly only care about yourself when it comes to the server.

coming from a player who also spend the same amount of time in this game, we had more players online before the title system then after...

screen freezes are not lag related issues.
and someone who donated over 100 bucks here wont stay if there account get wipes.
losing donators = losing money = giving henhouse a harder time to keep the server up.

Funny how you mostly mention fak here , dont forget they got the same amount of kills and did the same amount of shit.
-where fak had 1 multiboxer(stinas) passion managed to get 2 and farm ppl in hyjal Gy's
-both payed players/healers a donor code or 2 (not necesarrely a bad thing)
-both have been Graveyard farming the fuck out of battlegrounds.
-both the top 2 hated players
- and finally both have been in so many flamewars.

now i can understand you dont wanna shit on ezatt cuz he seems like a nice guy to you.
but your claiming that Fak should take a brake while ezatt is farming 2k kills in a day.

Donation codes can be reset and re-used IF there would be a character wipe.

on topic; Lock anyone who gets above 100k hks, or above 50k. that way they have more than enough for god knows what.
sooo lock FAK, Ezatt and anyone else's Hks that are absurdly above the rank14 title requirement

Smolderforge has been renowned for never wiping its characters. I think we should hold true to that.

I totally agree that we shouldn't wipe characters. That would be a terrible idea, but when I said wipe in my previous post, I only meant HK's and nothing else. No gear / trinkets / proffs / or chars.

Now that this is out in the open, I really don't see FAK or Ezatt stopping anytime soon if they don't have something to stop at.... IF there's no cap, they're just going to keep going.

Sorry if this bothers anyone, but I still say to cap the kills, but keep the titles.

Interestingly enough Henry, Andrew had a good idea the other night when I told him about the problems. Would it be possible to cap the maximum amount of hks you can get in a weeks time, like with conquest points on retail. So even if the farming continues you can only get so many before its completely pointless.

Possibly through means of a bit of coding. Not sure where I would go to do it or start but I suppose it can be done.
