Before I started on SF I played on a very good vanilla private server. However I have got to say, tbc > vanilla.

Too many balance issues, raiding is actually very easy in vanilla up to BWL (really just a gear check). The game is also and incredible grind, it took me over a month to hit 60 as a shadowpriest. Drinking after every fight was a nightmare too.

Yup, tbc is fine, just druids were slightly overpowered, but gotta say that Season 3 was the fuckin best season in my fucking life.. so much fun when i think back (judging from a warr/rog/mage pov).

Ahh the days of patch 2.3xx. When an entire AV team could not kill a rogue though cheat death. Fun times :)

I dont know how its a problem to bring back the wrath servers i mean the server was great the only thing why every1 left the server is because how ret paladins were extremely OP and dominated by almost half of the server like seriously 3 SHot champs everywhere you could balance stuff out by reducing their damage a little bit i mean its just ridiclious and i really mean it thats the reason why every1 left the server is because no matter how much we complain the gm's/Henhouse never actualy responded or did anything about it so almost all the time every1 was rolling ret palas full pve and 3 shoting champs i mean i know "Wotlk will never be balanced" crap but rly if you would just fix this issue i mean everything will turn out fine the servers were great The "forum hype" that happend for wotlk is because the sf wotlk servers are great its just missing 1 or 2 things people say there are alot of wotlk servers? But the real question still remains under answered is that Are there alot of good wotlk servers? and the answer is no its because almost 80% of the wotlk servers have custom gear 312k+ hp thats just ridiclious you know what im trying to say? THe wotlk server is great here and "Henhouse needs more focus on tbc" i dont understand what there is to focus about the tbc server is great and i dont think it needs that much "focus". So what im trying to say is that if the wotlk servers were back up i think alot of people would love it and apreciate it. BUt the amount of abusers is just huge i got reported once for abuseing the pot trick but i only used it vs palas which gave me a advantage of defeating them never the less i got Lectured by the Gm(Twinkles) and i imediatly stoped by how come pala 3 shot champs dont get anything? its just 13 yr old kids living and enjoying there time over a bugged class which is not fun when ur going against.

There's nothing wrong with rets in 3.3.5. The reason they could "oneshot" you was because of the gear difference. Most paladins on the server had full s8, which was one of the main problems. Gear difference.

I emphasize one because there was quite a lot of reasons besides the gear difference. The core was fairly shitty, and there was no dev that could do anything about it. The launch was plagued by crashes because of an untested system implemented just before the server went live. When people started leaving, it left the players who still logged on with nothing to do. No bgs, no arenas, which lead to no progression. People couldn't get honor/arena points/badges, so they couldn't gear up. This made even more people leave. There's more, but the point is that the server didn't die because of rets.

We had a chat a while back about a wrath relaunch, and came to the conclusion that focusing on tbc was the better way to go. And it has been. We have a dev who can put all his focus on tbc, instead of splitting it between the two servers. And so far, he's worked wonders, and have fixed more bugs since he was hired than has ever been fixed since I started playing here. Server development, such as pve content, transmogrification, world pvp and a neutral dueling area have recently popped up, and there's most likely more to come because of the focus put on the tbc server.

Last time wrath was developed, the manpower was crippled. People signed up for beta testing, but most people didn't do anything to actually help the server. They answered some questions, and a few did some very poor testing, some didn't even do that. In the end it was left to three people, and one of them hadn't even signed up for the beta in the first place. There was a deadline (because of promises that were made, which was one of the mistakes), and the development of the server suffered because of the lack of manpower. Quite a lot went wrong in the development stage, which left the server in a poor condition at launch.

If it was decided that a new wrath server were to be launched, it would require a lot of work. First of all a dedicated team of beta testers would have to be assembled. People with wrath experience, and enough of them to actually do some solid testing, and give input to develop the server. The development would have to have a clear plan from the start, and the resources would have to be at hand. A developer would have to be hired to fix the bugs and work on the core, and to help implement systems for the server. GM's would have to be at hand, and it would be a good idea to have a few of them to work on collecting input from the community. In other words, we would have to find dedicated volunteers, a dedicated developer, time and most importantly, a lot of planning. As it is now, there isn't enough of that, and there won't be. Smolderforge is a small server, with a limited team. This team shouldn't be split to focus on two different servers, especially not when one of the servers would have to be tested and developed before the launch, which would come accompanied with a lot of problems, which would require a lot of attention. It would be a bad call.

Why would all this work be required? Because of, as have been said, the amount of active wrath servers out there. You say 80% of all the servers are horrible, but that leaves 20% that are at the very least decent. A few of them being very good, who have way more than all of the mentioned resources at hand. Because of this the standards for wrath servers are way higher than it is for tbc servers. And most of those standards would have to be met.

TL;DR

No, it won't happen, at least not in the near future. And that's a good thing.
