I understand that hardcore isn't for everyone, but personally I'd most likely drop out after finishing the last act if I played on softcore, if I even got that far.

Lag has always been a bit iffy when it comes to hardcore, and especially in Diablo 3, since they haven't seemed to get their shit together and solve it (if it's as bad as you make it out to be).

A lot of the things in Reaper of Souls was leaning in the right direction, but the execution is far from there, and there's still some fundamental flaws floating about. It's ridiculously apparent that they've snagged most of their new "ideas" and content from Path of Exile, which I really don't see as a problem, since Path of Exile did a lot of things right. But they're still missing a lot of vital pieces to make the game, and the progression with a character whole.

All this new content introduced now looks great. But once you reach that point that I mentioned in my second post, it's all the same. Same shit that d3 classic was. And reaching said point is about as hard as it was before (well, if you take rmah out of the picture obviously).

It has very polished gameplay, and a good feel to it. Now they've introduced some other minor details that was missing from before, like gambling for example. It's just missing most of the rest, which is a shame. It could've been a great game.

I'd love to start up a hc wizard again, but I also know that I'll be bored to shit, and the time will feel wasted after just a little while.

Really? I at least would want to gear the toon with an end game set at least before I hung up the robe. And while the excitement and edge added by playing hardcore does seem tempting, I don't want to chance hours of gameplay being completely wasted (as in a toon I can no longer even play) due to some bullshit I can't control or combat.

I do see what you're saying though, it just seems we aim for different things from a game. I aim to conquer a game I play, plain and simple.

It does seem that way, yes.

I have no problem losing characters in hc mode, because for me it's all about the journey, and the progression. How far can I take this character concept?

Since that's a part that's severely weak in d3, the game becomes quite a bit less appealing to me. It's very apparent that they tried to fill this in ros, and it's very apparent that they don't understand how to reach it. At least not yet.

I'll keep an eye on what's to come, because it's a game that has potential. I just don't find it very likely for d3 to reach it.
