Well, this is a bug you get on many servers, but it's not a real issue tbh.Diagnosis wrote:Sometimes when i strafe left, my character does moonwalk. plz fix. ty , big bug very annoying
And I actually think it's kind of cool.
What's more annoying is when you backpaddle, you get stuck. I think it is some kind of anti-speedhack thingy.
I just love to backpaddle and would appriciate it if you could fix that rather than the moonwalking.
On retail I could moonwalk too, and it's not a real glitch.
But hey thats just my opinion.
Re: Core switch and bug fixes
Like Oceans said, this was part of the game. This is NOT a bug or glitch at all, this is the way the game worked back then. I suppose it can be called a glitch on Blizzard's end, but not ours. It is not possible to "fix", this is client-side and was the way the game played. Player movement was not re-done until Wrath, in which you notice much more smoother moving.Diagnosis wrote:Sometimes when i strafe left, my character does moonwalk. plz fix. ty , big bug very annoying
This is related to the anticheat. Since people don't often backpedal we've not really given any care to look into it.Oceans wrote: What's more annoying is when you backpaddle, you get stuck. I think it is some kind of anti-speedhack thingy.

I'd like to do it soon, but since I'm afraid to move cores until I have amble time to address major issues that arise, I'm too afraid to do it if that were to happen. Right now I have very little time, and if major problems arose, I'm screwed, you're screwed, etc. There is 1 major bug that Isak and I need to work out. I think it was a crash-fix he was trying to do related to groups. But it ends up crashing the server afterall and needs to be reverted and double-checked. But after that, we hopefully should be good to go. Sadly, no EXTENDED testing has been done on everything so, there's always the chance stuff actually is more broken than we think. This is the downside to all programming, hence the reason companies have Quality Assurance (testers) teams of tons and tons of people, which we do not, and cannot really have.Firstaidkit wrote:Is there any ETA on the core switch yet?
A few old fixes from the current core will not be moved over until later due to the spell_* tables getting updated to modern day instead of MaNGOS. This may break blackout and a few other things again, but give us time to make sure everything is working okay, and we'll be adding those fixes back in. We don't want to make any modifications to the NEW spell database table attributes, until we know if they're still broken.

Snake trap (snakes don't attack), Track hidden , and pets , they don't follow or come to master when combat is canceled , and pet talent tree . There are more , but mostly interested in this bugs.Vord wrote:Can you please mention them so Henhouse can clarify if the fixes come with this update or if he at least knows the bugs exist?Banzai wrote:What about hunter bugs ?

Re: Core switch and bug fixes
This is I think a technically correct change.Henhouse wrote: [*]Totem/Relic swapping now properly triggers global cooldown.
However I will add a note on this.
Some classes will be hit much harder than others from this change. The class which I think we can agree does not exactly needs buffs atm will lose the least from this.
Because a Resto Druids spells are mainly instant, they can mostly avoid the consequences of this change.
This is how.
Druid Equips Rej idol
Druid casts Rejevenation
Druid equips lifebloom libram ********* (Right after the rejuvenation cast)
(At this point, the GCD of Rejuventation and the libram switch are combined. This means the druid suffers no extra penalty from this change (they just have to make some decent macros)
Any healer that needs to cast, or melee dps (Feral Druids, Ret palladins, enchancement shamans)
Classes that certainly are not over-represented in competitive pvp lose their ability to swap relics.
Another point to consider. Utilizing relic swapping in this way due to the spell queuing system in 2.4.3 is very latency dependent. There are addons out there that do it, but they required ~75 latency. So anyone with much more than this will probably lose out on this potential/functionality.
That is the reason why I am concerned about this change. It means some classes can continue to relic swap while others are prevented from doing so. In other words a two tier system. Not many people were happy back in the day when the change was made.
Please note I am not necessarily complaining about the change, but rather explaining the deeper consequences of it.

Re: Core switch and bug fixes
Not a bug, It's a blessing. In Wrath of the lichking they were made as Hands of's.. Which dispelled Hand of Protection if u tried to use Hand of Freedom.Oceans wrote:Paladins need fixing too.Vord wrote:Can you please mention them so Henhouse can clarify if the fixes come with this update or if he at least knows the bugs exist?Banzai wrote:What about hunter bugs ?

It is true that a Paladin can only have one Blessing buff up at a time.
But Blessing of Freedom and Blessing of Sacrifice aren't real buffs.
On retail you can have both of these spells on together with a real BLessing buff like example Blessing of Might.
Here when you cast Blessing of Freedom or Blessing of Sacrifice it dispells the BLessing of Might.
This is pretty annoying.
Also they don't have the word "blessing of" infront of it for no reason. It clearly says: "Players may only have one Blessing on them per Paladin at any one time."

Re: Core switch and bug fixes
I have gone and confirmed with multiple people that it is currently working correctly. Additionally, the tooltip clearly states that you may only have one Blessing on at a time. In Wrath these were renamed to Hand of _______, hence the reason they were no longer blessings and could be both cast on the player.Oceans wrote: It is true that a Paladin can only have one Blessing buff up at a time.

Re: Core switch and bug fixes
I'd like to take this opportunity to report some bugs i've noticed.
Paladins
1. The following librams all increase the bonus healing of flash of light. However on smolderforge these bonuses dont work and they confer no bonus healing whatsoever. In otherwords the librams are completely broken and since i see alot of paladins using them unwittingly i would highly recommend fixing them.
Libram of Souls Redeemed - bugged
Libram of Divinity - bugged
Blessed Book of Nagrand - bugged
Warlocks
2. Warlock pets are currently bugged. In TBC the developers modified the game so that in Battlegrounds warlock pets would automatically respawn with the player after the player died, thus preventing them from having to resummon it upon death. This would be a huge quality of life improvement to warlocks if this was fixed.

Re: Core switch and bug fixes
I had no clue these were not working! Took a look at it and fixed it. So once Henry starts using my core the changes will take effect.atky wrote:I'd like to take this opportunity to report some bugs i've noticed.

Yeah I read what Shirudo said, and I guess I was wrong. Had it confused with WoTLK.Henhouse wrote:I have gone and confirmed with multiple people that it is currently working correctly. It has been 4 years since I played TBC.
I've discoverd another minor bug with a hunter's pet.
When you tame a Warp Stalker the Warp ability doesn't work correctly at all.
