3 years of what? Farming same instances in endgame equipment? In every game there is always a "game over", that's why Blizzard is always introducing new crappy expansions - to give players something new to explore. You just can't run the server forever like this. Every decent pvp player has multiple glads already, pve'ers have full accounts of endgame pve gear. But well, you wiped all swp weps and shoulders, wow , now we can actually aim couple of items in this game. Anyway, just wipe it and start with a lower season gear (s1), and move it up after several seasons. Not to mention I would die of overwhelment(not a word) from angry tickets, emails, forum posts. It would never, ever end. I'm already nervous thinking about it. Yeah, not happening.
