According to many sources, this is blizz-like. During TBC I was pretty young and new at the game myself and never even had status bar text turned on, so I couldn't remember. It seems wrong because private servers have functioned this way for... ages. But turns out, it has not been blizz-like at all.

Blizzlike made some ''mistakes'' in tbc and this is a private server, so I don't see any point on making that change. Changes are to make the game easier or comfortable, not to decreace it

Not knowing the enemies exact health actually raises the skill cap imo. You can no longer plan your tactics ahead to the same extent as before by looking at the players health thus giving you an idea if the enemy has got pvp/pve gear etc.
You now have to go in and get a feeling for how much health they have and plan accordingly.

On retail you could have guessed their HP by looking at their gear.
