I'd sign up but there is no option to simply view pages and get updates without having to have your own web page like

"http://twitter.com/YOURACCOUNT"

You should be able to have an account without getting assigned the web page and if you wanted to make a web page for something you could add one to your account with the desired name. I wouldn't make an account just to monitor the servers status so I guess I'll just add the web page to a tab so I can check it now and again.

You can set your updates to private so only followers can see them, but then if someone follows you...

There are a few bots that randomly follow other people I've noticed, but you probably won't have that problem if you weren't connected to anyone.
