Account Removed?

Post by Astrup »

Hello I havnt been playing since 1 year on smolderforge and I think my account has been removed from the database.

I'd usually use Astrup as my account name but it didnt seem to exist anymore.

The downside is I donated for about 3 times and would like to get back my donation.
I've still got it in my Paypal history aswell. Is there some way I could retreive my account?

Also I'm not 100% sure if Astrup was my account name. But there is a problem with my account retreival cause the email I used at that time is not available for my anymore.

Your account was removed during the last wave of cleanups that was conducted December 14th. I see you have recreated the account now. I am afraid we are unable to restore anything related to your characters at this point.

To prevent this from continuing to happen in the future, we are flagging all new donors' accounts to be preserved in inactivity cleanups, as well as allowing old donors to flag their accounts. See here: http://www.smolderforge.com/forums/view ... f=4&t=6997

No kind of compensation will be made then? Cause I could prove that I donated a couple of times cause I still have acces to my paypal I used at that time.

Unfortunately, no. Since all accounts are removed past that time, we did it intentionally without intent on restoring anyone's account if they were deleted for being past that time. Same goes for donors, else we would be spending a lot of time recrediting.

This is why we have implemented donor preservation for the future though, to prevent things like this from continuing to happen.

I made a news post about it last night that you can read here: http://www.smolderforge.com/site/
