I did some testing today and it appears the differences between 2.4.3 (Oregon) and 3.3.5a (Trinity) login structures are very different now. I made it work to a degree, but when it came to the question of Warden it got a little complicated. It seems the Warden system is programmed a lot differently for Trinity on authentication initialization. So basically it would be very difficult to be getting both different Warden system modules to start at their appropriate times on appropriate clients (2.4.3 Warden vs. 3.3.5a Warden).

The ironic thing is, I always wondered why Trinity/Oregon implemented support for multi-version connections. Eg: 2.4.3, 1.12 connecting to a 3.3.5a server will show the realms as offline instead of getting a "Unable to validate game version" error. But the real question is, why would they have ever wasted their time programming that feature if they never intended making them compatible? There is no way you could plug up a 2.4.3 core or especially even a 1.12 into Trinity and ever get it to work right. -_- MaNGOS keeps their structures all the same since they support all 3 games, but of course Trinity doesn't. Strange...

So now I'm wondering -- should I really bother if account databases are separate? Because the only reason it's a shame is the fact you'll have to maintain two separate accounts. I always liked the feeling of having them like united, or centralized. This splits that and never allows us to create the unification with website logins or anything. I'll see what Darkgroom has to say but I know he'll be like "oH We Can ChAnGe ThiS BlabLAbla I i WiL do TomRooRow" but of course that will translate to "I won't be able to do anything, take the easier route."

It's not an anticheat, it's the real Warden client like we have running in TBC. I've made some more progress on getting it to work.

The problem with not having any type of cheat prevention causes the server quality to serious degrade. Sure you can "hire GMs" but they're never going to be online 24/7, and they never catch the player the MOMENT it's happening. The idea is to stop it before it ever happens, so it's fair and fun.

I was hoping for a faster release than what we have so far. Unfortunately, TBC literally broke down like an ancient car and we're having to scrabble like crash to keep it on its feet. People think the server is fine lately, or lagging a bit but the problem is quite... dire. Behind the scenes we've been doing a lot to try to keep it functioning properly. It's weird but that has taken away a lot of our time.

Some work has already been done on Wrath but it's mainly working on porting over Warden still (the one on the TC forums is horrid), moving over NPCs from the original server we want to keep, etc. No mall has been chosen or stuff yet. So sadly it's going to be a bit longer. I also need my helpers to be online before I can even do work so... that takes time away too.
