World of Warcraft Mini Legend. (It's about game)
With nine character types that can be undertaken by players from any of 8 different races, it'll be safe to say that the World of Warcraft is a deeply comprehensive MMORPG. So very correct is this statement, in fact, that the first official addition to the game, the Burning Crusade, was only distributed after 26 months from the World of Warcraft's official release, and no one was complaining. Today, with the pending release of the 2nd expansion to WoW mythos, the Wrath of the Lich King, veteran and beginning players alike are expected to pick up their swords (or wands) and wage a battle in the diverse terrain of the world of Azeroth.
Novice gamers would have an easier time in choosing a rogue. A rogue is like a ninja. A rogue's way is a matter of subterfuge and deceit. Every advantage allowed by the shadows will be heaven for the rogue. And his most powerful attacks are those that the opponents are not expecting.
However, rogues in this online game are more than just backstabbing, shadow walking', corner-trapping', cheap shot masters. Rogues in the World of Warcraft are also the masters of DPS, meaning, damage per second.
Indeed, only a couple classes can rival a rogue when it comes to matters of damage output. Rogues can bring down the enemy quicker than any other job in WoW. This makes the class desirable components of any 25-man raid groups, where success greatly depends on the effectiveness of the raid's collective DPS.
In matters concerning 5-man groups, or groups for the World of Warcraft's regular instances, rogues have enjoyed diminished roles. The reason for this is because of two inadvertent disadvantages that rogues unfortunately have: they are melee damage dealers; and their DPS is often too much that the tank loses control of the mobs.
The second disadvantage can be cured with a cautious playing of the class, and also with the aid of agro measuring tools like Omen and KLH.
The first disadvantage, however, is traceable to the game. Basically, an ideal 5-man group should only have one melee-type class, which is of course, the tank. This is to lessen the pressure on the healer. Most boss characters have AOE spells/attacks that damage anyone within his immediate proximity. With the tank as the only close range character, the healer will have no difficulty in maintaining his HP. With a rogue standing next to the tank, well, the healer will have to be on his toes at all time to keep the group alive.
These disadvantages aside, a rogue's damage potential makes him a fantastic option for solo grinding and question to max level, as well as an essential asset for 25-man setups where healing rests on at least 6 healbots.
That's all

Re: World of Warcraft Rogue Strategy
I think this is in the wrong forum.
Anyways, uh, cool? I don't really get the purpose of this topic.
EDIT: Nvm, could've sworn we had a class discussion topic before.

Re: World of Warcraft Rogue Strategy
A Rogues main disadvantage is aggro?
If any of our tanks lost aggro to a Rogue in BT they'd have a serious talk with our Warrior CL + Guild leader
