Post by Karahn »

Anyone wanna post some good warlock specs so that people can see what works for them. For anyone that puts up try to post the spec - how it works - its benefits.

Little something if you are interested playing UA or SL/SL

Defensive Affliction (the common UA)
  • Has simple rotation, DOTs, drain, CC
Things making this build defensive comparing to the build on below
2/2 Improved Healtstone: More health gained from Healthstone
    Fel Stamina: More Hit Points
Demonic Aegis: Increased healing overall, assuming you are using Fel Armor
Fel Domination/Master Summoner: 0.5sec summon demon for quick sacriface for example
Offensive Affliction
  • Has similiar rotation with few exeptions; whenever possible cast Immolate/Shadowbolt, use Shadowburn as often as possible. Shadowburn gives a nice boost to damage output when kiting. This spec also has the highest damage output comparing to any other Affliction or even SL/SL build.
SL/SL
  • One version of the "oh so common, almost too common" warlock build. Most durable warlock build.
Less dependent on demon than the one below.
SL/SL
  • Second version. More dependent on demon.
The following goes for both builds:
Works very much like UA build. Extremely durable with active demon, but without one, SL/SL build is void.
Edit: This build has higher dps than Offensive Affliction, but its not that viable.

got multiple specs that i use but i guess i can share a few.

http://wow243.gamestool.net/warlockt.ph ... 2513531351

This right here looks alot like Kfc's spec.
but if you are in a good group or play with mates that actually cover your ass
then you can sacrifice intensity for Imp life tap.
but before you go LOL IDIOT please do not forget that s3&s4 gloves also give a 50% chance to avoid interuption with casting fear. so if a target gets destrochained well he will have no chance.
i left 3 optional points in this spec for your own favor to choose i can give you some suggestions.
-if you're focused on crit then go with Imp searing pain as in s4 it can crit up to 1.5-1.7k
-If you're focused on haste or rather specced into Imp shadowbolt instead of cataclysm then go with
Soul leech.(some people say its a must but imo its more for arena then for bg's)
-If you're focused on Sp then i would suggest to spec in 5/5 Aftermath.
now im already hearing people say why? 2/5 is just as good since it procs enough.
its all about RNG on this one but since you sacrifice intensity for Imp life tap this here can be
your life saver.

This spec here is mainly focused on shadow and Fel dom.
since the pet summon system is bugged and pets will vanish after you die
this seems like a decent solution and you also get Demonic aegis
but you can also go for the stam if your more of a solo player.
you only need to focus on 2 stats with this spec Haste and Spellpower
maybe a little of resi+stamm gems to give that little extra
but make sure you got nice quick cast that hits hard.
dont enchant weps with soulfrost and dont take items that focus on Shadow damage.
go for spellpower enchants because you will need to use fire when being CC'ed
not to mention Conflag and immolate.
Fel dom for emergency's like mentioned before and definitely DEFINITELY go for skull of gul'dan with this spec

These specs are not made for players who are new to the class.
be sure to try KFC's spec first since this is your most basic destro build and gives you the most survivability.
thats all for the moment i guess dont wanna share too much now :)

Figure ill post a aff/demo/destruction combo build i have yet to see anyone use, maybe i invented it, but most likely ppl have done it before. In terms of dps-output for your lifedrain+dots its about the same as sl/sl, the advantage is that you got shadowburn while the disadvantages are no pet and less survivability. Overall not as good of a spec as sl/sl but it has better dmg and is fun to play.

If you are going triforce, spec searing pain. It works but it's nothing special against an end tier spec.

I put that spec in the 2.4.3 builds thread in general discussion, guess it's good to have here anyways.
