Introduction
This is a guide to a new playstyle i figured out and improved to the point where it fits my style of playing best.
It's not good for arena if you're looking for an arena specc.
It's mostly for 1v1 specc.
I made the whole gear and specc setup(basicly the whole idea) myself i couldn't find anyone on the net with the same idea so far.
What is a "Shockshield Shaman?"
A shockshield shaman is a shaman going for defensive talents, maxing it out and focussing all his damage on lightning shield and earth shock.
Specc:
Defensive specc:
http://wow243.gamestool.net/shamant.php ... 0000000000
Involves Shamanistic Rage which is basicly your mini shield wall
Offensive specc:
http://wow243.gamestool.net/shamant.php ... 0000000000
Gives you alot more damage and you're able to involve chain and lightning bolt if the situation allows it due to the reduced casttime and EotS talent.Your shocks are able to crit for up to 4k with this specc due to Mental Quickness and Stormstrike however in my opinion i would not sacrifice shamanistic rage.
Gear:
At this point i have to say my Gear is also layed out on defense giving me the ability to function as a quite good flag carrier and theres a huge varriety of possible items.
Defensive gear:
Gladiators Thunderfist(3/5) (Ele Shaman Gear)
Gladiator's Earthshaker(2/5) (Enh Shaman Gear)
This gives you +35 resilience x2=more defense and 1additional piece of the ele set gives you more spell and spellcrit
Offpieces:
Ele shaman offsetGirdle,Boots,Wrists (Vindicator's/Guardian's Mail)
Shield:
Bulwark of Azzinoth(If you're a donor you can also take the brutal shield it's just as good i just prefer Bulwark because of the 2k armor procc)
Weapon:
Brutal/Vengefull/Merciless Gladiator's Gavel whatever you can access.
Cape:
Dorys Embrace (It gives just as much Stamina as most tank cape's and has nice other stats)
If you can get it:
Crimon Paragon's Cover it's superior by alot in comparison to Dorys Embrace
Trinkets:
PvP Trinket aka Medaillon for obivious reason.
Wushoolay's Charm of Spirits. (Its the 60 trinket from ZG however a really strong damage boost to you)
or for more Defense you pick a battlemaster trinket with spellpower.
Relic:
Brutal/Vengefull/Merciless Gladiator's Totem of Survival
Necklace:
Darkener's Grasp.
Rings:
The Seal of Danzalar.(It's really good as it is like a tank ring with spellpower.Perfect for our use.)
Band of the Eternal Defender>Ring of Hardened Resolve>Ring of Stalwart Protector
Offensive Gear:
Gladiator's Thunderfist (5/5) Full Ele Shaman for Maximum Spellpower
Offpieces:
Ele shaman offsetGirdle,Boots,Wrists (Vindicator's/Guardian's Mail)
Shield:
Brutal/Vengefull/Merciless Gladiator's Barrier (More Spelldmg just what we want :D)
Weapon:
Brutal/Vengefull/Merciless Gladiator's Gavel whatever you can access.
Cloak:
Cloak of the Illidari Council.
If you can't access it get Cloak of Subjugated Power.
Relic:
Totem of Impact
Rings:
The Seal of Danzalar.(It's really good as it is like a tank ring with spellpower.Perfect for our use.)
Vindicator's/Guardian's Band of Dominance.
Necklace:
Darkener's Grasp.
If you really want to go completely spell pick The Sun King's Talisman.
Trinkets:
PvP Trinket aka Medaillon for obivious reason.
Wushoolay's Charm of Spirits. (Its the 60 trinket from ZG however a really strong damage boost to you)
or for more Defense you pick a battlemaster trinket with spellpower.
Enchants:
Defense will be on the left side while offensive will be on the right side
Gloves
15 Strength|20 Spellpower
Legs
Nethercleft Leg Armor
Boots
Boar's Speed
Rings
+4 Stats
Shield
18 Stamina
Weapon
Frostbrand(Shaman weapon enchant)
Mongoose/40 Spellpower
Wrists
12 Stamina
Chest
150 Health/+6 Stats
Cloak
120 Armor/20 Spell pen
Shoulders
Fortitude of the Scourge/Greater Inscription of Dominance
Head
Glyph of the Gladiator
Gems:
S-T-A-M-I-N-A.Put it everywhere.
Meta gem:
Powerful Earthstorm Diamond.
Totems:
Totems do vary on Situation of course.
If your enemy is a lock or a priest:
Tremor/Searing/Mana Spring/Grounding Totem(When on CD+not active use TWrath of Air)
Any Melee except Shaman and Paladin:
Stoneskin/Grace of Air/Searing +Firenova/Mana Spring(When fighting rogue's use poison cleansing)
If ret or enh shaman:
Replace grace of Air with grounding
Hunter:
Windwall/Strength of Earth/Poison Cleansing/Searing Totem
Mage and others:
Strength of Earth/Searing/Mana Spring/Grounding Totem(When on CD+not active use TWrath of Air)
How to Play
Simple.
Keep track of your totems don't forget about them also the positioning(place searing far away vs rogues so he won't destroy it or has to walk a little in order to do so)
Use your shocks with brain.Stormstrike=20% more earthshock dmg.Earth Shock can interrupt so in some occasions don't use it right away.
Use Frost Shock only when it's really neccessarily.
Try healing yourself on any possible occasion if tauren stomp+heal
Keep lightning shield up all the time and don't forget the ZG trinket. If you don't refresh lightning shield you will barely do any damage.
If someone kites you and shocks are on cd you still got chain etc.
Last words
It's a fun specc it's not ment to be any competetive and others might look at you like this O.O because of the strange gear setup.
However it's really good and you're even a better flag carrier than most others due to your high hp armor etc. and ghost wolf.
I could imagine that if you go full damage this build could dish out earth shocks for 5k crit but keep track of your defensive and also you don't have that much spell crit so it won't barely happen.
If paired with Engineering it could also turn into a rival of the Shockadin however with lower dmg by far.
Feel free to improve anything about the idea if you found out something to increase performance even more with this specc i'd love to know.

[Guide] Shockshield Shaman
Re: [Guide] Shockshield Shaman
I like the thought and the schematic, but your execution isn't that great.
mainly because this is WoW, classes aren't as flexible as we would like them to be.
good idea though, hope some people notice it

Can you maybe redo the talents? Because the link seems broken to me. <3

Thread is almost 4 years old. Highly unlikely that he'll update it. For any specs try this https://www.smolderforge.com/forums/751 ... pvp-buildshandsomedgc wrote:Can you maybe redo the talents? Because the link seems broken to me. <3
