Hey guys, class discussion forums are pretty boring and uneventful so I figured I'd liven em up a little with a fun spec suggestion.

It's a hybrid of enhance and elemental, if you're lucky you can one shot most classes just as fast as enhancement, sometimes faster. The core of the damage comes from Frostbrand procs and Lightning Shield hitting a Stormstriked target (both scale with spell damage). You fight the same as enhancement dual wielding and just auto attacking with stormstrike and shocks. You'll want the highest spell damage mainhand possible, and http://www.wowhead.com/item=28572/blade ... unrequited in your offhand with 12 spell damage in each slot, enchant them both with Frostbrand.
Basically you'll want to gear spell damage, spell crit, and probably some more spell damage. I haven't tried the spec in any gear but sunwell/s4 so be wary that starter gear might not have enough spell damage to make it work. Keep hit caps in your mind as one of the challenges of gearing this spec is hit capping for spells (3%) and also getting enough melee hit that your Stormstrikes don't miss. The spec I linked has lots of benefits from melee crits but keep in mind that won't be extremely common unless you specifically gem or gear for it. Spell crits WILL happen and with Elemental Devastation you can consider your melee crit chance increased by 9% on a somewhat frequent basis. Your best bet for a trinket is Hex Shrunken Head for a steady DPS increase, or you can use a trinket that can proc damage on hit like Romulo's Poison Vial. Also against rogues and warriors I use the level 60 trinket that increases damage dealt by Lightning Shield.
Like I said it's a vague guide, if you have ideas to improve it or any other input, feel free to let me know. Try it out and have fun!
A Fun Spec
Re: A Fun Spec
I remember that Konszpa played some hybrid, probably the same as yours and he did nice damage back then.
Re: A Fun Spec
Probably, like I said I didn't create the spec, just customized it. It destroys melee classes and it seems to do better against frost mages than enhancement does.Bucovsky wrote:I remember that Konszpa played some hybrid, probably the same as yours and he did nice damage back then.

And it is so much damned fun to play... Seriously. But there's one thing you might consider:Vicarious wrote:Probably, like I said I didn't create the spec, just customized it. The BT trinket for the spec. The 275 AP from the trinket and 110 AP from shocking relic equates to a very nice boost in Spell power, given 30% of AP is thrust into Spell power. (1194 Spell Power with only flask active / 1509 with totems down and the procs. (those proc often, by the way.) Which turns into 3400 Earthshocks, 1.2 - 1.4k frostbrand against that feral about fifteen minutes ago, with a 1.4k surprise from the totem.
It chews through your mana rather quickly though... Better stock up on mana recovery item(s).

It's personal preference :D I really don't find it fun to play, a part from dueling.. :DZapcraclepop wrote: And it is so much damned fun to play... Seriously.

Re: A Fun Spec
I'll have to assemble a pvp vid of it then. It definitely has issues with warlocks and paladins, and decent hunters. But most melee, and priests, folds like paper. Added with slightly better odds vs mage than enhance, (mainly because each earthshock you use to interrupt can crit for roughly 3.5k.)Hartun wrote:It's personal preference :D I really don't find it fun to play, a part from dueling.. :DZapcraclepop wrote: And it is so much damned fun to play... To each their own, though. It's a hybrid spec, so it'll never really be as good as a pure enhance or elemental build. It's another one of those fun specs you'd never be caught dead pulling in arena.
The numbers it can crap out is pretty amusing, but you'll definitely spend a lot of time drinking, or chugging potions like niggas drink Koolaid.
I'm already used to using shitloads of potions and junk, so I found work arounds.
