Any good Priest Macros?

Post by Hippo »

Hi, I tried looking online for 2.4.3 guides for macros, etc... but I can never seem to find anything. Anyways I have a shadow priest 20/0/41 and I'm just curious to know what are some good macros and also if anyone has any reference sites that they look to when they build a new character, thanks.

Spammable mind flay - pretty selfexplaining

/cast [nochanneling:Mind Flay] Mind Flay

Spammable mass dispel - targeting circle wont dissapear when you spam bind like mad

/cast !Mass Dispel

Normal focus macros for silence, dispel magic, sw:d, mind control, etc...

/cast [target=focus] Silence

/cast [target=focus] Dispel Magic

/cast [target=focus] Shadow Word: Death

For 2s i would also use macros to assist your partner

/cast [target=party1] Dispel Magic

/cast [target=party1] Power Word: Shield

... etc. same goes for flash heal, binding heal, prayer of mending, renew, fear ward and so...

Fast fear ward on yourself - dont start match with ward up, it gets dispelled even if oponent has brain small like peanut...

/stopcasting
/cast [target=player] Fear Ward

Chained devouring plague with inner focus - castsequence cuz of you will sometimes use inner focus for other spells so you wont need another bind for inner focus

/cast reset=180 Inner Focus, Devouring Plague

Sw:d tremor - use this only if you cant melee it...

/target Tremor Totem
/cast Shadow Word: Death(Rank 1)
/targetlasttarget

Pet Ward - warding shadowfiend against warriors fear (despite not much warriors here know what to do, so you wont probably use it that much)

/cast [target=pet] Fear Ward

Pet macro - summons fiend and sends him attack your hostile target, if target is friendly it will attack his target. The dispel command is here agains snares (roots, coc rank1, frost nova, etc... you wont probably use it either, not much players cc shadowfiend here...)

/cast [nopet,harm][nopet,target=targettarget,harm] Shadowfiend
/petattack [harm][target=targettarget,harm]
/cast [target=Shadowfiend] Dispel Magic

I would also recommend to add /stopcasting to silence/focus silence and focus sw:d...
Sorry if some abilities are mispelled, everything was written from my head.

Thats my small piece of grain for priests.
Enjoy :)

Good macros Naira, but I would change a few of them to save macro space which is pretty limited in TBC.

#showtooltip Dispel Magic
/cast [target=focus,modifier:shift] Dispel Magic
/cast [target=target,nomodifier] Dispel Magic

You could even add party1 to that macro with alt or ctrl modifier but I myself use a separate keybind because I'm awesome

#showtooltip Power Word: Shield
/cast [target=party1,modifier:shift] Power Word: Shield
/cast [target=player,nomodifier] Power Word: Shield

/castsequence [reset=5] Power Word: Fortitude(Rank 7), Divine Spirit(Rank 5), Shadow Protection(Rank 4)

#showtooltip Shadow Word: Death
/stopcasting
/cast [target=focus, modifier:shift] Shadow Word: Death; Shadow Word: Death

Also a protip that I've found really really awesome is keybinding targets to mousescroll, for example scroll up targets party1, down targets yourself.

Anti Poly:

#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/cancelaura power word: shield
/cast [nomod] shadow word: death
/cast [mod: alt] [target=focus] shadow word: death

Use at the .2 or .1 sec of poly to avoid a juke, may need practice

Tremor(or any other totem)

#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/tar tremor totem ---- replacable
/cast shoot

Imo better than using sw:d because if there is a mage nearby, that's an insentive to poly you, force trink, or let have you sit there for 7 secs.

(Deep Disc tree)Panic button:

#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/cast Pain Suppression
/cast Inner Focus
/cast Power Infusion
/use Master healthstone ------ I roll with locks <3

After using this, expecting you are still being tunneled( bad idea, tunneling a priest that poped supp)
Fake cast flash, then real cast it, following up with a fear, then call to your team to snare, root, stun, slow, or silence them.

Feind Macro:

#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/stopcasting
/cast shadow feind
/startpetattack
/cast [target=pet] fear ward

Stops casting, summons pet, starts pet attack, casts fearward on it....self explanitory

These are ones I remember from top of my head that haven't been posted yet, pm me on forums, ingame, or I'll hand you my email, if you want to chat about this more. Gl :)

Why would you have 3 stopcasting commands in one macro?

it's the logic of

"the harder I hit my keybinds, the more damage my abilities do"

I personally put it there for a "just incase" moment, because the /stopcasting, can bug out if you still have the keybind down, on say "Flash Heal". It has for me, I'm not saying it does it 100% of the time, but that's my reasoning behind why I have 3 there.

Then download an addon that enables spells to be activated on button down instead of button up.

SnowfallKeyPress for example, should work on TBC too I guess.

Eh, I put it down on most of my macros, if you don't like it don't add it into your macro. I've learned to play with it, so I'm fine with it that way. Each has her own. :)
