Discipline Priests...

Post by lewk »

Aight, recently (Read last week) came back to smolderforge after a long break.

I always played Mutilate on my rogue, Schmaex, and my favourite spec is by far 51-3-7.

Anyhow! If you spend anytime in the duelzone you've probably seen me get absolutely stomped by those pesky Priests, discipline priests to be more precise.

So, can anyone of you more experienced and dignified Mutilate rogues (God, I hate ShS Hemo rogues...) provide any kind of help to beat disc priests, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and keep Mutilatin'

Still no success. Having trouble keeping Wound stack up even with Improved Poisons.

What weapon combo are you using? Mutilate with two 1.8 attack speed daggers has rather poor poison application rate. For fights vs any healer, I think a 1.8/1.4 weapon speed combo is considerably more effective. 1.4/1.4 actually does not sacrifise that much damage, and ramps up poisons really quickly, at which point you could swap out to 1.8/1.8.

Be aware that mutilate has a few talent bugs, which I intend to fix in the next few patches to make the spec more competitive (as it should be in 2.4.3).

I know this is probably way overdue and you have it figured out by now lol but for those who come across this thread in the future and don't, here it is... Have wound poison on both your Mh, and Oh, then put mind numbing on your second off hand. Open with garrote, rupture, vanish, cheap shot, then kidney shot. Make sure you get at least two applications of wound in this time to negate his passive healz. Once he gets to about 30%ish or so, switch your offhand to whip out mind numbing and shiv to negate his casting heals. And try to kick his heals, if he knows how to pump fake (which like...80% don't xD), then run away and disrupt him with your deadly throw. Make sure that 5 stacks (wound) are up at all times, you shouldn't have to shiv the wound on there because they're on both weapons. But if it's about to run out and you have no choice... Well you gotta do what you gotta do. Hope this helps all the fellow rogues out there trying to be like neilyo <3

Ps. Sapping him three times in a row to get rid of his bubble is also a good idea
