What stats should a retribution paladin focus on?
What stats should a retribution paladin focus on?
Hi everyone, you know I decided to make a ret paladin and I really liked to use the dwarf class with it. So I was wondering what kind of gems or stats should a ret pally focus on? Thanks!

Stack strength.

You'll need the two sets of talents from Holy and others go in Retribution. Try to stack pure strength. Leave agility. Focus on mainly using Seal of the Crusader, Seal of Vengeance, and seal of Retribution.
You need to have sanctity aura. And only focus on increased Dmg.

I usually go with Seal of Command, since I dont have much experience with retri. Is that lesser to say, Crusader?Elesme wrote:You'll need the two sets of talents from Holy and others go in Retribution. Try to stack pure strength. Leave agility. Here is two ways to go.
1)Crit stack. More critzzz=Faster stacking of vengeance.
2) Strength stack. Its just way to const damage.

For PvE, you want a spec that looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/ThTNH.jpg
As for stats, get hit rating best you can from items available to you. Your aim is 6% hit rating. (The cap is 9%, but you get 3% from talents.) You also need to get 26 expertise (not rating, but actual displayed expertise). After you have both of those, you then stack strength.
Get Judgement of the Crusader up, and use Seal of Command to DPS with (or Seal of Blood if you are a Blood Elf, which is better).
Also, if you ask nicely enough, you may be able to get in a 5-person party within the raid that has an Enhancement Shaman in it. Their Windfury Totem should increase your DPS by a rather significant amount.
Now, I know this is bumping an ancient thread, but I thought I'd get this information out there.

Re: What stats should a retribution paladin focus on?
Mostly strength; but there's a certain breakpoint at which you get a substantial increase in burst damage around the ~35% crit mark. You also want to use rank 1 SoC; the increase in damage with the other ranks is so small it's ridiculous blizzard even put them into the game.
Re: What stats should a retribution paladin focus on?
you want atleast 36% crit, after that stack strength. generally leave seal of judgment on druids and rogues and fire mages so they cant out run you and kite you. And then yeah seal of command is the way to go.
