Faction Imbalance.
Faction Imbalance.
Due to the massive faction imbalances in the server (Horde outnumbering Alliance by a large margin) we have closed Horde character creation for the time being.
Yes, we have done this many times in the past, but only for a day or two. This time horde creations will stay off for longer.
Please do not make tickets asking to open character creation OR asking when the creation will be up again, since we do not have any date set for allowing horde creations again.

Re: Faction Imbalance.
Tho i understand the reasons behind this, i really think the method to fix it its wrong and damages the server, both in short and longer term.
Players should not be forced or restricted to play only a faction (which maybe they really dont enjoy playing --> server changed in 10 mins), but instead they should be encouraged and supported into choosing that faction.
There are several ways to do this, tested on other private servers with great results.
One of them is to increase the number of badges which alliance gets for 10 BG marks.
Maybe instead of 5 badges/10 marks they should get 7, or 6, or whatever (this can be decided by Staff)
Another one is to give a faction buff which persists trough death - increased status, or increased HP's or both or whatever, for all alliance players in BG's.
In this way, the factions will be balanced by themselves and players will still have the freedom to play as they wish, without feeling restricted and forced in any way.
I hope this helps and i hope you guys will really analyze these solutions.

What ur saying will never happen ,once they increase the number of badges u get as alliance every CZ will probably be alli ,then once the number of people equals out alliance will have the advantage of getting more badges . People are gonna start complayining and its the whole problem starts again.
BTW horde overnumbers alliance in all servers ive been to so far.

Re: Faction Imbalance.
first of ok i get that its abit stupid to force players to play a faction they dont want to but m8 the suggestions u gave basicly almost do the same..if u give alliance more badges alot more ppl will go alliance side ,and the 2nd suggestion well thats plain stupid beacuse every newcomer will go alliance when they find out they get buffs that wont go away..Haruman wrote:Tho i understand the reasons behind this, i really think the method to fix it its wrong and damages the server, both in short and longer term.

Re: Faction Imbalance.
An engine can be really simple coded so it auto increase/decreases the number of badges a faction gets.Fraternity wrote:What ur saying will never happen ,once they increase the number of badges u get as alliance every CZ will probably be alli ,then once the number of people equals out alliance will have the advantage of getting more badges . To explain - if one faction has with 25% more LOGGED IN players, then the other faction gets +1 badge
If its with 50% more , then the other faction gets +2 badges
If its with 75% more , then the other faction get +3 badges.
If the difference between factions is less than 25% , then both factions get same amount of badges, since the difference is tolerable.
With this engine, the issues its auto-balanced.
EDIT:
and it wont be ANY imbalance anymore ever, because if more ppl will join alliance, then HORDE will be the one outnumbered, not the alliance, and HORDE will get more badges automatically, not the alliance.
Then if more ppl will join horde because of that, then alliance will be outnumbered and alliance will get more badges, and so on ...
Get the idea of how this auto-engine auto-balance works ?
Re: Faction Imbalance.
That whole logged in-player-badge thing would require probably over 100 lines of coding which is beyond us. Sorry. Even if it was possible it would be too much trouble to do that.
The only suggestion I would consider would be the badge increase, but only by like 1. However I wouldn't keep it this way for long because, like it was stated, everyone might flock to Alliance. The enabling/disabling is providing to work very well because we see the results right away and not over time. To be fair I do about once a day open Horde character creations for about 4 hours. Then I'll disable it again but so far it's working.

Re: Faction Imbalance.
I don't want to ruin your day buddy, but those ideas aren't that good. As for my opinion is to leave it as it is. Obviously Horde pwns and everyone wants to be Horde. I suggest the server staff let the players decide for themselves. Because in other means you will lose players, just let them decide, and I mean the badges would be good, and our best option at this time. I doubt someone would recreate a new character with a new faction for ONE extra badge for the BG quests.Haruman wrote:Tho i understand the reasons behind this, i really think the method to fix it its wrong and damages the server, both in short and longer term.

Re: Faction Imbalance.
If it was for me to decice , i would make an area where u can kill both horde an alliance no matter what faction u are that would make the numbers count less.
Re: Faction Imbalance.
Well that's like any arena you can go to. I can do the same with Hyjal, but then you get people who group up and it becomes a problem. But now I can probably make it to where it'll error out if you try to group in that zone or something.
