I got an anonymous email from that same header again telling me it was fake and he "couldn't resist the joke".

I don't really think it was a joke. Because how funny would I be laughing if I believed it was real and shut down all the servers? Obviously their intentions were malicious but whatever. We tried telling who it was from their grammar and typing mannerisms, we got some close results but we're not going to point fingers.

rofl, i think blizzard has spell check, or can atleast afford someone to check their letter for them.
on a side note, im sure other private servers have their bases covered incase something like this happens. Molten-WoW is hosted outside the USA, knowing this because i use to GM with Kaer (server owner) back when he was on another server being a dev. but i highly doubt smolderforge will be targeted by anyone that has anything to do with blizzard. were a small nice community.

and to be honest if i were part of blizzard and going to shut servers down, id go hit the xtremetop100 list first.

It's okay, but yeah the person wrote back actually another fake email and said "it was a joke" and that they "just couldn't resist."

We're also hosted outside of the US.
