You've probably already seen several topics and post from me, and they were all about bugs and fixing.
I made those topics because I am a new developer here at Smolderforge.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit more about myself, what I'm capable of, and what my future planning is / what I wan't to improve here at Smolderforge.
INDEX:
- 1. Who am I
- 2. My experience
- 3. Previous projects
- 4. What is getting improved on Smolderforge now that there is a new developer?
My name is Joey Erdogan and I am 17 year's old.
Currently I'm doing a IT Study where I will get Microsoft certificates for different coding languages.
I already have been busy with Computers since I was 7 years old, and started developing when I was around 13 years old.
I'm not going to give out too much details about myself, so we'll continue to the next chapter
2. My experience
As for now I got quite some experience with: C++, C#, VB.net, MYSQL, PHP, HTML, JS, CSS and Visual Studio.
I started with C++ when I was 13 years old, I had my own TBC server where I kinda learned every C++ Coding standard.
After that my knowledge made a fly and I learned quite a lot, I downloaded EBooks on C++ and made some first big fixes.
- C++: 5 years
- C#: 2 years
- VB.Net: 1.5 years
- MYSQL: 5 years
- PHP: 3 years
- JS: 1.5 years
- CSS: 5 years
- HTML: 7 years
- 2007: Started my own Private server (2.4.3) - I was the first server with brutal gear :D
- 2008 : I started developing on wrath servers, I was the first server with all wrath item's as I had some nice tools to import them from wowehad.
- 2008 December: I quit wrath, I was too busy with school and had no time for development at all.
- 2009 January: Private Server sources like arcemu and ManGoS made some nice improvements on the wrath code, so I continued.
- 2009 April: Started writing the whole death knight starting zone, I had it fully working.
- 2009 July: Started working on Ulduar, fixed almost every boss including Mimiro and Algalon
- 2009 December: Wrath of The Lich king version 3.3.0 (ICC) Came out, I worked together with some arcemu developers and made one of the first 3.3.0 servers
- 2010: Had a funserver, focusing on malls and such, development continued, nothing special
- 2010 April: Starting a BIG RolePlay project, you can view it here: http://dnwow.org/rp/
- 2010 May: Started Icecrown Citadel development, I had a fully working Lich king fight, and fixed the first floor in ICC
- 2010 June: Ruby Sanctum came out, this was one of the easiest bosses for me to script :D
- 2010 October: Doom month, Cataclysm systems came on reatail, i was unable to update my tools to log packets and population on my server wen't down, I quit and decided to go back to retail.
- 2010 December: I was a developer for a short time on Feenix WoW for their 1.12.1 server, but left a month later because of their other developer who made everything worse
- 2011: Started my own 1.12.1 project, where I fixed over 300 bugs in 1 month.
- 2011 March: Fixed Razorgore the untamed and Sapphiron, after those fixed I shutdown the server, No population sadly! i went back to retail again.
- 2011 March/April: Started a new 2.4.3 server, made some fixes which will be ported over to Smolderforge now, after 2 months I quit again because of my Exams, in may I started again but the population didn't raise, so I quit again for good, I decided to search for other things to develop.
- 2011 August: Between May and August nothing really happened, I played wow on my level 85 druid and I got Second admin on OregonCore, where I met Henhouse, so now I'm here :)
Because I will focus on the development of the core, Henhouse will have more time to administrate the server and make sure it runs well.
Also I am planning to fix all bugs getting reported in the topics i made, and ofcourse I will be focusing on the other bugs reported in the Bug Report forum.
I will also improve stability and performance of the Core.
The main things that will be fixed for now are Class bugs, and PVP Bugs.
After that I will focus on PVE, and I will do my best to get you guys a very nice Chess event in karazhan.
So what is getting improved on Smolderforge is also depending on the users, Report all bugs you find! with no reports there won't be fixes!
I hope that this was a good introduction and you guys know me a little bit better now.
You can always ask me question! I will answer them as good as possible.
Thanks for reading.
Sincerely,
Joey erdogan
