I load the game up and log in and there are no servers. it says the server is online so i should be able to log in.
I extracted the game correctly and downloaded the realmlist and its still not working any ideas what im doing wrong?

Could you post a screenshot too, perhaps? You didn't upgrade your client or anything strange did you?

Problem found.
The realmlist file has to be saved as a .wtf file, not a text file.
Take this file and put this in your TBC folder -
