Installation guides up to date?

Hi, my friend and I are looking for a private server to play on. He's on his MAC and I'm on my windows. I was curious if the install guides are up to date and we should just follow them or not. My friend on MAC is using the install guide but the second link on it seems to be broken. We could use help on setting up for MAC and Windows if anyone is able to assist.

Unfortunately, they're mostly not up-to-date. I recommend downloading, for the both of you, the pre-installed TBC client found
here. For you running Windows, use a program like 7zip or WinRAR to extract the game, edit the realmlist.wtf file and you're good to go.
For Mac users, such as your friend, running any OS X version greater than Lion, you'll need to install a program such as PlayOnMac which will pass the game through Wine(Windows Emulator) in order to run the game. The native Mac file for 2.4.3 no longer works past Lion, and therefore must be emulated through a Wine program. PlayOnMac is very good, and I highly recommend it. It's not too hard to configure or use.
