Is there a type of grace period between creating an account and having it approved to log in? getting unable to connect error

Help please. I was really hoping to get online today. my account says active but I am unable to connect. the website says the server is up so I am not sure why this would be happejing.

Account creation is immediate. You most likely forgot to edit your realmlist.wtf file located in the WoW folder that you extracted. Edit this file with Notepad, or another editor and add the contents:
set realmlist connect.smolderforge.com
Save the file, letting it remain at .wtf -- DO NOT save as .txt!
