So, I could definitely use some help.

So my brother bought himself a new PC. It's running Windows 7 Pro. I can list list the specs of this if need be.

The problem: I installed World of Warcraft via the Links supplied here on this site. [actually, I tried two separate torrents.] I got the game running for him momentarily, but he could not login. it would go as far as the character screen, then blow up. Saying the video driver's weren't there. So, we got the Nvidia drivers for him for his GTX 670, now Wow says that it can't find a suitable display device.

I'm mostly hardware, myself, so I cba to figure this out for him. But if someone here has a better idea of what's going wrong, please let us know. Thanks very much in advance.

PS: Donor code to the lucky one who gets this working. <3

And go.

Post a dxdiag report.

Sounds like you haven't installed the right drivers.

I do very much doubt it is a problem relative to the card. Considering I run WoW on a GTX 650 myself.
As Cube said, either your drivers are fucked up, or something else has gone wrong.

I assume you installed the latest version of GTX 670 drivers. If so, it could be that version is faulty or doesn't coop well with WoW. You could try installing an older driver version.

We are using wow 2.4.3 which is verry old, so dont compare it to the retail client, those gpus where not even existing when 2.4.3 was coded.
Might be some HW and wow incompatiblity issuse or a mess whit the drivers.

Make sure you do a clean uninstall of the drivers, not just uninstalling from windows program manager.

Also i dont se why you had to re download the client when you can just copy paste your client, wow dosent require a install.

Also a gtx 670 is quite a overkill for wow, i run it on a gt630 and still it dosent fully use the gpu

No it doesn't. But with todays internet speeds its probably easier and faster to download the client again rather than plugging your old harddrive in and transfering it from there.

He obviously bought the computer just to play TBC. You need to have an extremely terrible GPU (like literally, REALLY really bad) to get WoW to use all of it because WoW uses your CPU to render almost everything.

Sounds like video driver issue, you can try to update you're driver throught the website, the reason i say that is because u probably did check the video driver if it was up to date or not, but by checking it from the computer system, it doesnt usually find anything eventho u need one. depends what kind of computer and video card you have. If you have Intel, go on internet and type in google "Intel Driver Update Utility" the website will automatically find the drivers you need. If you have a different video card, then let me know and I will help you if i can.
