Can't start the client

Post by NaaDaa »

Allright, so I have this really strange issue.
World of WarCraft (build 8606)

Exe: C:\Users\sul12asebastian\Desktop\WoW TBC\Wow.exe
Time: Apr 22, 2013 4:35:25.425 PM
User: sul12asebastian
Computer: LLD118LT
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This application has encountered a critical error:

ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception
Program: C:\Users\sul12asebastian\Desktop\WoW TBC\Wow.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 0023:007FDE7B

The instruction at "0x007FDE7B" referenced memory at "0x00000000".
The memory could not be "read".

| this is what shows when I try to start up my client, when I am at home ( it has nothing to do with the internet, I checked that) however, when I'm at my school, the client works without any issues whatsoever.

All regrets

If you're using another PC in your school and it works, then i guess maybe not all files were properly extracted. This might be the issue, thats why try re-extracting the client. Then report back if you're still having problems.

Hmm, interesting, one thing you could try is to change comparability, right click on client the properties and change comparability to Windows XP or try all of them. if that don't work post and ill help u from my house i might know the issue, im at work atm ;).

Sounds like either the torrent did not finish downloading, or it was not extracted correctly. Use either WinRAR and/or 7zip to unextract. I personally recommend 7zip as it's more lightweight and more efficient.

https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/error-132 that's what's causing the error (if you can trust the error number).
